Since we need to get the ball rolling again, somehow, will do (probably during class). YE Pacific Hurricane 13:53, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- "The 1926 Nova Scotia hurricane (also known as the 1926 Great August Gale) was one of the deadliest Canadian hurricanes in the 20th century. " Why not just say it was the third deadliest?
- The table says it was seventh deadliest. I don't think that rank is really worth the mention, so I just went with "one of the deadliest"--12george1 (talk) 19:42, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
- "Over the next few days, the storm's track varied between north-northwest and northwest. Early on August 5, it peaked with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph (190 km/h)." could these two sentences be combined? I'm not a fan of the phrase "peaked with maximum sustained winds either. YE Pacific Hurricane 14:50, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- Fixed--12george1 (talk) 19:42, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
- "The hurricane then began weakening and curved northward." maybe "as it curved northward"? I see "and" a lot in the lead :P YE Pacific Hurricane 14:50, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- Done. I replaced most of the "and"s, can't find Newfoundland though :P
- " It began losing tropical characteristics while approaching Atlantic Canada and transitioned into an extratropical cyclone on August 8. " you mention in the MH it was last noted on 8/8 yet in here you mention it dissipated. Which one is it?
- I'm gonna go with what the MH says because it this was 1926, so we may not know for sure if it actually dissipated at that moment--12george1 (talk) 19:42, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
- " In Atlantic Canada, the cyclone caused many fatalities after sinking several ships and boats offshore Nova Scotia, including the schooners Sylvia Mosher and Sadie Knickle. Between 55 and 58 deaths occurred, including at least 49 from those two ships crashing ashore Sable Island." why do you mention "many deaths" first and then a sentence later mention the exact total? YE Pacific Hurricane 14:50, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- Fixed--12george1 (talk) 19:42, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
- "Around that time, a ship recorded a barometric pressure of 968 mbar (28.6 inHg) – the lowest known pressure in association with the storm.[1]" change to 4 sig figs by going |sigfigs=4 in the {{convert}} template. YE Pacific Hurricane 14:50, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- Didn't work. I'll enter it manually--12george1 (talk) 19:42, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
- "After becoming a Category 3 hurricane on August 2, the hurricane may have maintained sustained winds of 115 mph (185 km/h) for about three days," why the uncertainty? YE Pacific Hurricane 14:50, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- "an estimate made based on the pressure–wind relationship.[1] " there's a number of pressure-wind relationships. Probably more useful to say "pressure-wind relationships". YE Pacific Hurricane 14:50, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- Because there were no ship observations on August 3 or 4--12george1 (talk) 19:42, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
- "Due to the possibility of gale-force winds occurring just offshore Maine, storm warnings were issued between Portland and Eastport.[1] " link to storm warning. YE Pacific Hurricane 14:50, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- "Several ships recorded hurricane-force winds and pressures as low as 968 mbar (28.6 inHg), though none entered the eye of the hurricane and sampled the lowest pressure in the storm. " why is this impact and not the MH given how short the MH is linked and why is pressure linked? YE Pacific Hurricane 14:50, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- Why is List of Atlantic hurricanes linked in the see also? YE Pacific Hurricane 14:50, 19 October 2017 (UTC)
- @12george1: Thanks to the 2017 AHS's extreme madness, progression on our GAN's has halted. I don't want to fail this, so please get to this when you get a chance. YE Pacific Hurricane 06:40, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Yellow Evan: It's really not the 2017 AHS at fault for me not finishing these, though I have spent a lot of time on this. I was working about 40 hours per week from October to mid-November (plus I did about 100 hours of volunteer work in October). After that, you could probably say I simply forgot about some of these. Anyway, thanks for the review--12george1 (talk) 19:42, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
