External drives
[edit]I'm removing this line:
- cdrdao does not support external drives that are connected via USB or FireWire.
because it works for me - FireWire, under Linux. - Pronoiac 07:27, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Broken Link To Dylantree
[edit]The dylantree site is no longer working, so this guide, which is excellent, is unavailable. If anyone sees this and is able to get a copy of that page, please mirrror it or something so it can be accessed again. Thanks--72.75.113.204 16:52, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
Notable?
[edit]How is this software deserving of an article? ~MDD4696 02:49, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- The proposed guideline for software notability suggests that cdrdao might be notable if "The software is included in a major operating system distribution such as Debian, Fedora Core or FreeBSD, and the maintainer of the distribution is independent from the software developer." Not sure about Debian, FC, or FreeBSD, but cdrdao is included in Ubuntu (easily among the top 10 Linux distributions[1]), so I'd say the software is in the notable ballpark. --Ds13 03:46, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Not cross-platform available
[edit]A test today did not confirm cdrdao in recent revisions to compile on Mac OS X 10.6, Solaris, IRIX and HP UX. Reason is a modified and outdated libscg, which hinders cross-platform-compiling. I would suggest to remove "cross-platform" and to replace it with: linux-and-windows-availability. --195.37.78.113 (talk) 12:40, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Libscg no longer compiles with version 1.2.3
[edit]Note that due to the fact that the cdrdao authors destroyed the previously working auto-configuration for libscg, there is no way to compile the latest cdrdao on any platform that needs libscg because cdrdao did not add a so called "native implementation" for the related platform.
Feel free to present reliable sources that verify a successful compile for one of the removed platforms if you like to to add a related platform again. Schily (talk) 14:00, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
