Note

[edit]

The writing on the article's grinds sections needs to be in the proper tense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:47:4300:1902:78FB:2123:2A79:E59 (talk) 21:59, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Another note

[edit]

The lead picture, although cool, isn't showing a 'grind'. I feel like a 50-50 down a handrail or on a flatbar would be the most obvious, basic, clearest candidate for showing what a grind is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.6.155.199 (talk) 19:31, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Trick suggestions

[edit]

We're going to keep all trick suggestions to this section before putting them in. Make sure to not only describe the trick but CITE SOURCES as well. --Liface 09:57, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I'm with you on this one. I'm going to be very aggressive at keeping the crap out of these articles. I'm a very experienced skateboarder and I feel I can call bullshit on stuff that's way too out there. For tricks that are common and you can just pick up any skateboard mag to see one and see the name, we don't have to add anything, but ANY UNSOURCED ADDITIONS WILL BE DELETED. I've had enough of people playing a couple video games and telling you about all the bull that they've supposedly "seen" and then adding it to these articles. ENOUGH ALREADY. In this video, Eric Koston used to refer to crooked grinds as "pointer grinds." Should we add this to the article? AlexWangombe (talk) 21:19, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Only if you add proof (ie. source, reference, and/or external links)--Panyé El Skat-é-board-ér 13:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

If someone else wants to do the formatting legwork, the book Skateboarding: rails, rails, rails by Evan Goodfellow, (Oakland, CA? : Veva, 2007) lists the following rail tricks: Caveman boardslide -- Backside boardslide -- Frontside boardslide -- Backside bigspin boardslide to fakie -- Frontside 50-50 grind -- Backside 50-50 grind -- Frontside 5-0 grind -- Backside 5-0 grind -- Backside feeble grind -- Frontside feeble grind -- Frontside salad grind -- Backside salad grind -- Backside salad grint frontside 180 out -- Frontside noseslide -- Backside noseslide -- Frotnside tailslide -- Backside tailslide -- Frontside lipslide -- Backside lipslide -- Frontside bluntslide to fakie -- Backside bluntslide -- Frontside nosebluntslide -- Over krooks -- Backside nosegrind -- Frontside Smith grind -- Backside Smith grind -- K-grind -- Frontside krooked grind -- Nollie half cab boardslide -- Frontside 180 nosegrind. --submitted by Imp, 12 Feb 2009 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.213.240.8 (talk) 15:42, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not just skateboarding

[edit]

This article should be renamed and expanded to mention other things you can grind with, like snowboards, skis, scooters and even shoes. Akeosnhaoe (talk) 01:16, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
