Orphaned references in Larry Hogan

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Larry Hogan's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Unofficial":

  • From 2018 United States gubernatorial elections: "Unofficial 2018 Gubernatorial Primary Election results for Governor / Lt. Governor". Maryland State Board of Elections. Annapolis, Maryland: State Board of Elections. July 10, 2018. Archived from the original on July 11, 2018. Retrieved July 11, 2018.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 05:06, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No Labels is centrist?

[edit]

I know it's been opined that No Labels wasn't a "centrist" organization, but rather an astroturfed movement to draw votes from more liberal candidates in elections. Both ideas are subjective, of course. 47.185.2.173 (talk) 21:28, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It would depend on what reliable sources say about them. Since so many things can be subjective, we try to rely on what published, independent sources say. – notwally (talk) 21:36, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Drone section does not seem DUE

[edit]

The section on drone sightings at Larry Hogan#2024 drone sightings does not seem WP:DUE. It seems like a minor news story that will have no lasting impact or signifance. I think this should be removed per WP:NOTNEWS. – notwally (talk) 21:28, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I added this section on the basis of the wide scale of attention that Hogan's comments generated. That said, I can also see your point that -- despite the breadth of coverage -- it was time-limited. I don't object to this section's removal. However, reflective coverage in the future might overcome DUE concerns and warrant its reinsertion in some form. I figured I would start a discussion before removing since there were multiple cited sources and it seemed well-written, and maybe other editors will have some input. If there was coverage in the future, I would not object to including the content. I find it unlikely that this would be included in future coverage, but I don't think it's impossible that it becomes something important enough in his life to be relevant to include in an encyclopedic biography. – notwally (talk) 21:41, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
