Notability

[edit]

This list should be reserved for notable Austinites. To avoid discussions of notability here, we should limit the article to persons with Wikipedia articles. Since the process for creating articles and establishing notability of biographical articles is well documented, we should maintain a list of potential entries to the main article here, until their notability is established. Sourcing and BLP

[edit]

The BLP unreferenced tag must remain until sources start appearing in this article. Any removal must be immediately reverted. I explained to TheMindsEye that we cannot direct people to other Wikipedia articles to get sources. The sources must be on this page. WhisperToMe (talk) 22:14, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I disagree. This is a list, not a complete article. The list exists to refer readers to the specific articles on the topic. Each entry on the list should be referenced. If the article does not have references, then that is a problem to be resolved for that article. If the article cannot support the claim that the subject is an Austinite, then by all means, remove the entry. I've looked at many Wiki lists, and this is the standard approach. The list makes a claim about living people, therefore it must comply with the BLP policy, at least with respect to living list members. Kevin (talk) 04:23, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
MindsEye, even talk pages have to comply with BLP. In short, all kinds of articles, including lists, must comply with BLP. WhisperToMe (talk) 07:45, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Anybody have good sources for Brian Brushwood living in Austin?
