When were cables installed?

The article says the cypress has been held in place with cables for 65 years. But that's as of 2013. Is there a source stating the year the cables were installed? I tried a search, but had trouble confirming the year. Certainly in the 1940s. Giving the year would help keep the information current. DAK4Blizzard (talk) 09:13, 8 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
