I'm Tesseractic and I want to welcome you to Wikipedia!

Wikipedia is an amazing community adventure which is constantly being edited. There are many different versions of Wikipedia for many different languages, and the English version has 6,925,980 articles which are written by volunteers like you and me! We even have a newspaper, The Signpost, to keep you up to date with news and new developments. Wikipedia has five pillars which summarise Wikipedia's fundamental principles:

  1. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia
  2. Wikipedia is written from a neutral point of view
  3. Wikipedia is free content that anyone can use, edit, and distribute
  4. Editors should treat each other with respect and civility
  5. Wikipedia has no firm rules

I uploaded images of bands from the internet to the Wikipedia pages of these bands. I do not have a permission evidence from the authors of these images and I am told that If I do not provide permission evidence from the authors in the next 6 days, then they will delete the images I put up and I do not know who the authors of these images are and I'm stuck on what to do. Thanks for your contributions to Popular Monster (album). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because It is upcoming, there are obviously no reviews since it isn't out, no chart history, etc. Case of WP:TOOSOON.. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. CNMall41 (talk) 17:24, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I do understand the point you are trying to make, but I think that it is okay for the wiki page for this album to be out for information for people to see information for this album.
But thank you, though. Doomed Shadow (talk) 12:22, 7 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Oceano (band) and Revelation (Oceano album). Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 21:54, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I understand, thank you. Doomed Shadow (talk) 21:55, 14 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bone Kingdom moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Bone Kingdom. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and please make sure to fulfill WP:NALBUM; the easiest way is adding reviews in reliable sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Broc (talk) 20:45, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A lengthy welcome

[edit]

Hi Doomed Shadow. Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you don't mind if I share some of my thoughts on starting out as a new editor on Wikipedia: If I could get editors in your situation to follow just one piece of advice, it would be this: Learn Wikipedia by working only on non-contentious topics until you have a feel for the normal editing process and the policies that usually come up when editing casually. You'll find editing to be fun, easy, and rewarding. The rare disputes are resolved quickly and easily in collaboration.

Working on biographical information about living persons is far more difficult. Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policy requires strict adherence to multiple content policies, and applies to all information about living persons including talk pages.

If you have a relationship with the topics you want to edit, then you will need to review Wikipedia's Conflict of interest policy, which may require you to disclose your relationship and restrict your editing depending upon how you are affiliated with the subject matter. Regardless, editing in a manner that promotes an entity or viewpoint over others can appear to be detrimental to the purpose of Wikipedia and the neutrality required in articles.

Some topic areas within Wikipedia have special editing restrictions that apply to all editors. It's best to avoid these topics until you are extremely familiar with all relevant policies and guidelines.

If you work from reliable, independent sources, you shouldn't go far wrong. WP:RSP and WP:RSN are helpful in determining if a source is reliable.

If you find yourself in a disagreement with another editor, it's best to discuss the matter on the relevant talk page.

I hope you find some useful information in all this, and welcome again. --Hipal (talk) 21:30, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for the advice, I really appreciate it, I will take note of everything you said. Doomed Shadow (talk) 18:54, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is Discogs a reliable source? Doomed Shadow (talk) 14:42, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) Discogs is user-generated, so it is not considered a reliable source. > Tesseractic: talk? 19:26, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Does anyone by any chance know how I can make the wikipedia page of something (e.g. a band or an album) appear on the info box on the right-side of it's google page? Doomed Shadow (talk) 19:38, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Marking substantive edits as "minor"

[edit]

Information icon Hi Doomed Shadow! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Hell on Earth that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. —ShelfSkewed Talk 13:14, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
