I want to tell you the links I proposed are well-researched, very thorough, contains no hate and would be an asset to Wikipedia. My question: did you read them before removing? Try that short one: http://www.geocities.com/b_d_muller/index.html , an introduction for my many pages. Note: that site has been posted as a link, for a long time (please don't remove it!) on Wikipedia pages about 'historical Jesus', 'historicity of Jesus' and 'Jesus myth'. Maybe I am not a registered scholar, but I thought Wikipedia was not all about propagating the work of professionals. I consider myself more of a critical & investigative amateur historian, with burning (but not blinding) passion about the history of very early Christianity. And my approach (and background) should be commanded in a field "controlled" by many scholars (most of them on a payroll) with very different opinions & theories (which would prove that scholarly works, in this specific field, may be the problem, not the solution). I must admit I am very annoyed when my pages are rejected, mainly because some existing links are of bad quality, very biased or totally irrelevant (Check the last link on the 'Ignatius of Antioch' page --'Ignatius of Nerdtreehouse'). (BTW, I would love to attract your attention on these bad links, after reviewing them, of course). I did participate about one year ago into editing the 'Jesus' page. But that was very discouraging, with my work being often chopped down by evangelical Christians, even after some very long discussions. Doing so, I declared my own name (as I do on my website, with my personal email) and I had my own Wikipedia ID (which I forgot). I hope to be in contact with you. as far as I know. came to Greece at a young age and grew up in olympiacos, and that was before the boseman rolling. obviously he didn't play in the Greek league as Russian (foreigner). even had a Greek name-Alexis Amantidis. his eurobasket.com and fibaeurope.com profiles also says so. just check it. Hi, this is the same editor as in the Russian Wiki under this byline (my name is max, by the way). Could you clarify a couple of points for me, please. If i understand it correctly, a bishop with a title "of Ierissos" resides on the Holy Mount as a representative of the Ecumenical Patriarch. Is this right, and if so, what are his functions and which country is he from? And another one: As i undestand, prior to the Second Ecumenical Council the see of Constantinople was within the jurisdiction of the bishop of Heraclea. Would you please tell me the Greek spelling of the name whereof the English equivalent is "Hilarion" -- in traditional (Byzantine) way should there be a difference, and specifically what you call (in the church calendar) "St. Hilarion (291-371) the anchorite". And another thing: if you have a few seconds, please check the greek name of this holiday (the greek bit in the brackets) ru:Третий Спас in the Russian Wiki -- i understand that you usually call this feast by way of a shorthand name, but there is a full one, isn't there? Could you please give me translation of this: "Το 1313, το Άγιον Όρος υπήχθη ως σταυροπηγιακό στον Οικουμενικό Πατριάρχη και η επισκοπή περιορίζεται στη βορειοανατολική περιοχή της Χαλκιδικής." As i kind of guess what it says, does it seem plausible to you -- i mean the date 1313? The text was taken from el:Ιερά Μητρόπολις Ιερισσού, Αγίου Όρους και Αρδαμερίου and in turn apparently excerpted from the metropoly's site. Thanks for your help. In fact i had found the text which i placed in the Ru WP article here ru:Великое славословие. The only thing that confuses me is the bottom line thereof (Δι’ εὐχῶν τῶν ἁγίων Πατέρων ἡμῶν, Κύριε Ἰησοῦ Χριστέ, ὁ Θεός, ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς. I did come across such meaning as well, but i suspected it could be confusion with a similarly-sounding name "Εὐφράσια". Still, the literal meaning of the word components would signify: Εὐ -- "Good"; what about the rest? I understand that the meaning i adduced above presumes the latter half of the word is of the same root as in the word "schizophrenia", i.e. "mind" or "soul".Muscovite99 (talk) 17:39, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your kind reply! Would you have any idea why in other european languages they us the term iconoclasm, which likewise appears to be derived from the Greek words, but the latter one being different from μαχία?

I am not saying it is wrong. It depends largely on the norms that are conventional in your literature. In the ru WP we would normally designate places the way they were at the time in question; or would write, e.g. "now Ukraine". In fact, i may be utterly wrong in your case -- i mean i cannot really read Greek; i now realise you were probably talking about the transfer of his relics in the 1940s and, yes, then it was Ukraine. Talking of Lubny (where he died), it was neither Moscovy nor Ukraine, in the strict sense of the word. Sorry, i now think i troubled you pretty much in vain. By the way, have a look at the refs in the Russian article on him: if you have not used the book by Steve Runciman (Steven Runciman. The Great Church in Captivity. Cambridge University Press, 1988, p. 283.) i highly recommend it, though some details are not quite flattering. The Russian article (written by me) also deals with the interesting fact of the role played in his canonisation by Παΐσιος Λιγαρίδης - a bishop of the Jerusalem Church (he came from Chios) -- a very well-known figure in the Russian church history, but apparently not much so in the ellenismos.Muscovite99 (talk) 21:29, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
