[edit]From Proto-Turkic *yïlïg (“warm”).
Cognate with Kazakh жылы (jyly), Kyrgyz жылуу (jıluu), Southern Altai јылу (ǰïlu), Uzbek iliq, Turkmen ýyly, Turkish ılık (“warm”), etc.
