This template creates a headword line for Irish suffixes. It takes two optional positional parameters:

  • |1= indicates what part of speech the suffix creates: for derivational suffixes, set this to a for adjectives, n for nouns, or v for verbs. If the suffix creates another part of speech, or multiple parts of speech, leave this parameter blank. For inflectional suffixes, set this to i regardless of part of speech. For emphatic suffixes (used on nouns and pronouns), set this to e.
  • |2= indicates what gender a noun-forming suffix creates: set this to m for masculine or f for feminine. If the suffix does not assign a specific gender, or is not a noun-forming suffix, leave this parameter blank.

An additional gender for noun-forming suffixes can be specified with:

  • |g2=

An additional part of speech formed by the suffix can be specified with:

  • |pos2=
