This got fixed and I think backported, Ill try find the PR so we can document when this may happen

The PR that fixed this is kubernetes/kubernetes#67825 (ridicolous story, read throught it if you are interested). It got cherry-picked to release-1.9+ so its fixed in

  • 1.9 No release since cherry pick so v1.9.11 which doesn't exist yet
  • v1.10.8+
  • 1.11 No release since cherry-pick so v.1.11.4 which doesn't exist yet
  • 1.12+
