Veles Labs is an open-source organization building reliable infrastructure for decentralized systems.
We focus on the parts of the stack that usually stay invisible: smart contracts, protocol tooling, oracles, verification pipelines, and cross-chain infrastructure.
Our initial development and research is focused on the Casper Network, where we build and experiment with:
- smart contract primitives
- oracle and validator coordination
- cross-chain and interoperability tooling
- cryptographic verification and proof systems
Casper provides a strong foundation for this work due to its consensus model, finality guarantees, and emphasis on correctness at the protocol level.
While Casper is our first supported network, Veles Labs is not limited to any single blockchain.
All projects are designed with portability in mind, and we aim to support multiple execution environments and consensus models over time. Where possible, tooling is built to be reusable across chains rather than tightly coupled to one platform.
We believe that robust decentralized systems require:
- clear trust boundaries
- conservative design
- explicit assumptions
- and honest threat models
Open source is not a marketing strategy for us — it is a requirement. Public code enables public review, which is the only way to build infrastructure that others can safely depend on.
In Slavic mythology, Veles is associated with contracts and oaths, wealth and exchange, and the underworld — the hidden, finalized layer beneath the visible world.
We use the name as a metaphor for infrastructure that operates below the surface, where correctness, finality, and incentives matter most.
All core tooling is developed in public repositories.
Veles Labs may also offer professional services such as:
- smart contract development
- protocol design and review
- infrastructure consulting
Commercial work helps sustain long-term maintenance of open-source projects.
