Omdia Search Tips

By default, search will scan all published reserach including downloadable assets. Stemming is applied to your search terms to automatically search for word variants e.g. Searching for Data management will find results containing Data and management, but might be separated by other words, or, because of stemming, results might contain words with the same stem, such as manage, or manager.

Search Options (new feature)…
Search Options feature  three levers to fine-tune your results: 
1. ‘Only show content I can access’ – Limits results to your entitlement. 
2. ‘Only search titles’ – Toggle to apply your search term exclusively to report titles. 
3. ‘Search exact phrase’ – Toggle to apply search to the exact search term phrase in its entirety

Boolean search…
To search for an exact phrase use quotes e.g. Searching for “Data Management” will retrieve only results containing that exact phrase.
Use Boolean operators (AND OR NOT) to broaden or narrow your search. Please use ALL CAPS for Boolean operators. 
    •  AND contains ALL search terms e.g. Cisco AND Oracle finds articles containing both Cisco and Oracle.
    •  OR contains AT LEAST ONE search term e.g. Cisco OR Oracle finds articles containing either Cisco or Oracle.
    •  NOT does not contain the specified search term e.g. Cisco NOT Oracle finds articles containing Cisco, that do not also contain Oracle.
Other Boolean operators such as parentheses () and wildcard searches using an asterisk * are available. 

Filter By…
There are 5 ways to filter search results to narrow them down and really target your result set to your needs. Filter your results by any combination of: Content Type, Date, Service Area, Geography and Analyst. For example: You can do a keyword search on “5G” and then filter to see just analyst opinion pieces from the last year in the Service Provider Networks area covering North America. 

Save your search, create an alert…
Once you are happy with your search results, you can save your search by selecting the option in the top right above the results. You can even create an automated alert to receive an email when new research is published that meets the search criteria. You can return to saved searches or adjust alert frequencies via the ‘My Account’ menu.
