Richard David Bach (23. jun 1936 -) je američki književnik i avijatičar, najpoznatiji po filozofskom romanu Jonathan Livingston Seagull koji je početkom 1970-ih postao međunarodni bestseller. U njemu, kao i u romanu Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah je iznosio stav prema kome su fizička ograničenja i smrtnost ljudskih bića najobičnija iluzija; također tvrdi da je potomak Johanna Sebastiana Bacha. Mnoge njegove knjige se također bave letenjem, a on sam je bio pilot od dobi od 17 godina.
U septembru 2012. je teško ozlijeđen kada se njegov avion srušio na New York, trinaestero ljudi je poginulo a osmero je lakše ozlijeđeno.
