MSR Tools is a source code evolution analysis tool. It consists of a framework for mining software repositories and tools for metric calculation, visualization, defect prediction.

jMIR is an open-source software suite implemented in Java for use in music information retrieval (MIR) research. It can be used to study music in the form of audio recordings, symbolic encodings and lyrical transcriptions, and can also mine cultural information from the Internet. It also includes tools for managing and profiling large music collections and for checking audio for production errors. jMIR includes software for extracting features, applying machine learning algorithms, applying heuristic error error checkers, mining metadata and analyzing metadata.

A cross-platform text analysis program written in Python and Free Pascal/Lazarus which scans a whole text file (in plain text, HTML, EPUB, or ODT formats) and ranks all used words according to frequency, performing a quantitative analysis of the text using Shannon-Weaver information statistic and Zipf power law function. It counts words, sentences, chars, spaces, and syllables. Also computes readability indexes (Gunning-Fog, Coleman-Liau, Automated Readability Index (ARI), SMOG grade, Flesch–Kincaid grade level and Flesch Reading Ease).

YANG (Yet Another Network Generator - Java) enables you to generate social networks given various social rules observed in the real population. Uses: generate realistic networks to be used in individual-centric models, teaching or benchmarking.

Library for fingerprinting (decomposition) of chemical compounds. It has several tweaking possibilities and exporting options for data mining toolkits.

GAVS+ (Game Arena Visualization and Synthesis, Plus!) is an open-source tool which enables to visualize a broad spectrum of algorithmic games used in verification and synthesis, and offers a standard interface with utility functions to establish connection with engineering practice. It is developed by Department of Informatics (Unit 6), TU München. The tool is mainly is served for research and educational purposes. The software is released under the GNU General Public License (v3). A slightly outdated tutorial (in PDF) is included in the zip file.

GUAJE stands for Generating Understandable and Accurate fuzzy models in a Java Environment. Thus, it is a free software tool (licensed under GPL-v3) with the aim of supporting the design of interpretable and accurate fuzzy systems by means of combining several preexisting open source tools, taking profit from the main advantages of all of them. It is a user-friendly portable tool designed and developed in order to make easier knowledge extraction and representation for fuzzy systems, paying special attention to interpretability issues. GUAJE lets the user define expert variables and rules, but also provide supervised and fully automatic learning capabilities. Both types of knowledge, expert and induced, are integrated under the expert supervision, ensuring interpretability, simplicity and consistency of the knowledge base along the whole process. Notice that, GUAJE is is an upgraded version of the free software called KBCT (Knowledge Base Configuration Tool).

This software is a Perl Catalyst based electronic lab notebook (ELN) aiming for small biologic laboratories, that have no funding to invest into a closed source ELN.

Zettel is a program for taking notes from bibliographic references. Instead of marking the text on paper and then going crazy looking for where the copy ended up, the notes are saved in a database, linked to the reference from where they were copied. Notes can be tagged and retrieved in several ways. Zettel é um programa para fichamento de referências bibliográficas. Ao invés de marcar o texto em papel e depois enlouquecer procurando onde a cópia foi parar, as notas são guardadas numa base de dados, vinculadas à referência de onde foram copiadas. DBNL is a cross-platform library that offers a variety of implementations of Bayesian networks and machine learning algorithms. It is a flexible library that covers all aspects of Bayesian netwoks from representation to reasoning and learning. It allows you to create simple static networks as well as complex temporal models with changing structure. It can handle highly non-linear dependencies between multivariate random variables. The particle based inference can answer arbitrary questions given the provided evidence and can even cope with multimodal densities. The library supports the most common types of densities and conditional densities, like uniform or normal densities and facilitates user defined density functions. To enable easy use the library is taking account of modern development techniques like policy based design and template programming. All these properties make it applicaple for a wide range of applications.

A framework for solving large systems of linear equations (Ax=b) in a distributed network using different iterative methods. The solver is written on Java, can be run on Windows or Linux. The solver is compatible with either MPICH2 or mpj-express.

Esg2Net is a set of tools and libraries used to transfer large datasets over high-bandwidth networks. It introduces a new mechanism in which every operation involving in data movement can be profiled, tuned, and adjusted on the fly in order to eliminate end-host bottlenecks. It has mainly developed for the movement of ESG climate datasets for high-speed replication and data access over the network. Climate Data Mover is used for testing 100Gbps networks in Nov 2011 at Supercomputing Conference.

It was originally started to search the content in pdf files under the project "HAWK Search". Searching with this tool is query-based not word-based as in most of the document search tools OR document readers. It also takes care of jumbling of words within query and spelling mistakes. The Library is for Finite Transforms such as the Number Theoretic Transform (NTT) and Finite Radon Transform (FRT). Current modules include NTTW for NTTs with high resolution (microsecond) timing, basic array and imaging. The transforms are optimised for performance.
