Is Raima Sen onboard for ‘The Kerala Stories’ director Sudipto Sen’s next film?

Raima Sen selectively acts in Bengali films. However, she has consistently been seen in critically acclaimed Hindi web series delivering stellar performances one after another alongside a few selective Bollywood films. Lately, there's a buzz in Tollywood about the actor’s upcoming project and it suggests that Raima will soon be returning to Bengali entertainment, but not for a movie. Instead, she will be playing the lead role in a web series.
Last month, Raima’s latest movie ‘The Vaccine War’, directed by Vivek Agnihotri, was released. The film which has earned critical acclaim saw Raima playing a journalist’s role with multiple layers. There are also whispers in the industry that Raima might collaborate with Sudipto Sen, director of ‘The Kerala Stories’, for his new movie titled ‘Bastar’. However, this hasn't been confirmed yet.
Previously, Raima has played pivotal roles in quite a few Bengali web series like the ‘Hello’ franchise and the latest being ‘Roktokorobi’. Sources indicate that she has recently been approached for a new web series. Titled ‘Kolonko, the project is being created by Sahana Dutta for Bengal’s one of the most popular streaming platforms. Interestingly, the platform recently announced multiple upcoming web series for their 7^th season, among which several are from Sahana, including the new seasons of ‘Indu’, ‘Gobhir Joler Mach’ and ‘Gora’.

While there hasn't been any official information about ‘Kolonko’ from the creators, only the series poster has been released. It's said that Raima was approached specifically for this series and according to sources, she has agreed to the offer. The theme of this series is still under wraps. Given that Sahana's content often revolves around women's independence, it's speculated that the series might follow a similar theme. The shooting is set to begin after Durga Puja.

Meanwhile, the versatile actor recently wrapped up the shooting of his next Bengali film ‘Chaalchitro’, directed by Pratim Das Gupta. The investigative thriller also has Tota Roy Choudhury, Shantanu Maheshwari, Anirban Chakrabarti, and Swastika Dutta in key roles.
