‘It was fun to record an Uttarayan song after a long time’
Bhoomi, who has come up with a song this year, Jo Ne Ude, for the festival, shares, “It was fun to record an Uttarayan song after a long time. Collaborating with Keerthi Sagathia (co-singer), Tapas Relia (composer) and Manoj Yadav (lyricist) was a wonderful experience. I was also involved in the writing (Gujarati lyrics), composing and editing of the song.”
‘I love eating undhiyu and homemade sweets during Uttarayan’
Talking about her Uttarayan plans, she shares, “Unfortunately, I will be busy with rehearsals for an upcoming show on the day of Uttarayan. I love visiting my sister’s house in Navi Mumbai, where Uttarayan is celebrated in a grand way.”
She adds, “I love the family gatherings during Uttarayan. There is so much vibrancy and positive energy in the air during the festival. I love eating undhiyu, jalebis
and homemade sweets during Uttarayan. My mom makes amazing undhiyu, while gundar pak and methi pak are also among my favourites. My relatives send me Uttarayan delicacies from Mehsana.”
‘I miss celebrating Uttarayan in Vadodara’
Bhoomi gets nostalgic while remembering Uttarayan celebrations in Vadodara, her hometown. She shares, “I love playing garba on the terrace during Uttarayan, which we used to do in Vadodara while growing up. I really miss those days. While I can’t fly kites, being with my family on the terrace for the entire day was so much fun! It was all about good food and great music. I would gorge on sing chikkis and chani bor for the entire day.”
She adds, “Be it keeping mini refrigerators on the terrace or other arrangements, Uttarayan celebrations require serious preparation and I love how we enjoy it with our loved ones.”
