Govind Namdev says Ram Gopal Varma's recent works make you question how he once made brilliant films like Satya, Rangeela, Sarkar: 'Maybe his mind will change again...'
Govind Namdev, known for his roles in Ram Gopal Varma’s films like Satya and Sarkar Raj, shared his thoughts in an interview about hoping the director makes a comeback.
Speaking on the Hindi Rush podcast, he mentioned how RGV's recent work makes one wonder how such a creative talent could lose his touch. Govind mentioned that RGV changed after he achieved a certain level of fame. He believes that fame and circumstances had an impact on the director, causing his creativity to shift. Govind expressed that now, whenever people see his recent work, it feels hard to believe it’s from RGV.

Govind also expressed his hope that RGV will find his creative spark again. He highlighted some of RGV’s greatest films like Satya, Sarkar, Company, and Rangeela, emphasizing how impressive his earlier work was. Govind believes that RGV, known for understanding actors and shaping groundbreaking films, might still change direction.

When Satya was re-released in theaters in January, 27 years after its original release, Ram Gopal Varma shared a heartfelt note on X (formerly Twitter), acknowledging that he had become "drunk on his success" during his earlier years in the industry.
He wrote, “When the bright lights of a 'Rangeela' or a 'Satya' blinded me, I lost my vision and that explains my meandering into making films for shock value or for gimmick effect or to make a vulgar display of my technical wizardry or various other things equally meaningless and in that careless process, forgetting such a simple truth that technique utmost can elevate a given content but it can’t carry it.”
