C. Abstraction

Before that, I will introduce to you first some


of the tools and equipment used in front
office services.

You look at the picture that I am going to


show you so that you would be familiar with
it.
1. PAPER CLIP: A paper clip (or sometimes
paperclip) is a device used to hold sheets of
paper together.

2. BINDER CLIP A binder clip, less


commonly known as a banker's clip or fold
over clip or ‘’bobby clip”, is a simple device
for binding sheets of paper together.

3. . STAPLER a mechanical device that joins


pages of paper or similar material by driving
a thin metal staple through the sheets and
folding the ends.

4. KEY RACK It is an array of numbered


compartments used to store guest room
keys.

5. KEY CARD a small plastic card with


magnetic coding that is read electronically
when inserted into a scanner and used in
place of a key to open locks, hotel doors,
etc

6. PEN A pen is a long thin object which you


use to write in ink.

7. CALCULATOR An electronic calculator is


typically a portable electronic device used
to perform calculations, ranging from basic
arithmetic to complex mathematics.
8. RECEPTION DESK A reception desk is a
special type of desk normally in a waiting
room, lobby, or in front of an office, that is
used for anything from greeting customers,
answering the telephone, and scheduling
appointments, to dealing with transactions

9. FILING CABINET a piece of office


furniture usually used to store paper
documents in file folders.
10. COMPUTER a programmable usually
electronic device that can store, retrieve,
and process data.

11. ENIAC(Electronic Numerical Integrator and


Computer) 1946 the first electronic
computer used for general purposes, such
as solving numerical problems.
12. PRINTER a device that accepts text and
graphic output from a computer and
transfers the information to paper, usually to
standard size sheets of paper.

13. FAX MACHINE Short for facsimile


machine, a device that is used to send and
receive documents electronically over a
telephone network.
14. CASH REGISTER a mechanical or
electronic device for registering and
calculating transactions at a point of sale.

15. TELEPHONE a telecommunications


device that permits two or more users to
conduct a conversation when they are too
far apart to be heard directly.

16. ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL He invented

17. CREDIT CARD MACHINE a device used
