Information and communications technology (ICT) or simply information technology (IT)
- It is the use of computers to store, retrieve, transmit, and manipulate data, or information,
including all hardware, software and peripheral equipment operated by a limited group.
ICT
Software
- Set of instructions, data or programs used to operate computers and execute specific
tasks.
Hardware
- A set of instructions, data or programs used to describe the physical aspects of a
computer. It is the physical elements that make up a computer or electronic system and
everything else involved that is physically tangible. This includes the monitor, hard drive
and etc.
Cloud computing
- The term generally used to describe data centers available to many users over the
internet.
Digital transactions
- Defined as online or automated transactions that take place between people and
organizations without the use of paper
- Online automated digital transactions like debit card.
Digital data
- Is data that represents other forms of data using specific machine language systems that
can be interpreted
- Example: chat
Internet access
- Is the process of connecting to the internet using personal computers, laptops or mobile
devices by users or enterprise
Computer applications
- An application, or application program that runs on your computer, web browsers, email
programs, word processors, games and utilities are all applications.
The word “application” is used because each program has a specific application for the user.
