Employees Payroll Management

System in PHP using CodeIgniter 4

Introduction
This simple project is an Employees Payroll Management System. This is a web-
based application project developed in PHP, CodeIgniter 4 Framework, and MySQL
Database. This project's main goal is to provide an automated and online application
platform for a certain company to manage their employees' payroll or payslips. This
allows the company's management to easily store, retrieve, and manage their
employees' payslips. It has a pleasant user interface with the help of the Bootstrap 5
Framework that can give a better experience to the end-users while using the
system. It consists of user-friendly features and functionalities.

About the Employees Payroll Management


System
This project was developed using the following:

 Bootstrap Framework

This Employees Payroll Management System Project is only accessible to


the Company's Management. The system users are required to log in with their
registered and valid user credentials before they can have access to the features and
functionalities of the system features and functionalities. The system users can be
only registered by the other user who has already access to the system. By default,
the project contains admin user credentials when seeding this CodeIgniter Project.
The project was developed with multiple features and functionalities. Some of the
system features are the Departments, Designation, Employees, Payrolls,
and Payslips Management. Each of the said features has CRUD (Create, Read,
Update, and Delete) functionalities. Also, each list has pagination features to
optimize the data loads of the page in the future. The Employee List contains
a Search Box which allows the user to easily find the employee data by searching
only the part of his or her employee code or name. Talking about the Payslip
Generation, system users are required to create a new payroll first before creating a
payslip entry for an employee. The payslip page automatically computes the
total Net of the employee using the Attendance, Earnings, Deductions, and Tax data
of the employee for the selected payroll or cut-off. Users can also print
the Employees Payslip.

How to Run ??
Requirements

 Download and Install any local web server such as XAMPP.


 Download the provided source code zip file. (download button is located
below)
System Installation/Setup

1. Open your XAMPP Control Panel and start Apache and MySQL.


2. Extract the downloaded source code zip file.
3. Copy the extracted source code folder and paste it into the XAMPP's "htdocs"
directory.
4. Browse the PHPMyAdmin in a browser. i.e. http://localhost/phpmyadmin
5. Create a new database naming payroll_db.
6. Import the provided SQL file. The file is known as payroll_db.sql located
inside the database folder.
7. Browse the Employees Payroll Management System in a browser.
i.e. http://localhost/ci4_payroll.
