There are two board types of recycling operations: internal and
external
• Internal Recycling: It includes reuse of waste products within the
same manufacturing process. For example, in the metal industry, tube
ends and trimmings are remelted and recast.
• External Recycling: It is the reclaiming of materials from products that
have been worn out or rendered obsolete, such as collecting old
newspapers and magazines for repulping into new paper products.

Statement of Problem
Study aims to explore the operational practices, challenges, and
opportunities within the paper recycling industry in Nepal, focusing
specifically on Ahdhri Enterprises Pvt. Ltd. Specifically, the study will address
the following questions:
• How effective are the current paper waste collection and recycling
processes at Ahdhri Enterprises?
• What are the main challenges faced by Ahdhri Enterprises in its
production?
• What opportunities exist for improving paper recycling practices in Nepal?
• How to tackle with competitors?
Findings
• Ahdhri installed two machine for production of raw material for brown paper and Polypropylene
(pp).
• The working environment of Ahdhri defines collection of raw materials from various clients and
vendors. After which segregation process is done before sending materials in the machine.
• The machine used for bundling of brown paper consist of 800lts hydro oil with 30hp, pressure
with maximum 6k to minimum 3k. In a single day it holds the capacity to produce 140kg-180kg.
within 15 days Ahdhri produce 2500kg-3000kg tons of raw material. Thickness of the materials
comes along with roll.
• Daily it produces 35-40 bundle of pp, around 60-70 of brown paper and 10-12 tons of white paper
in a week. Then after it load the raw materials to border sides of Nepal to Paper mill factories.
• There is no total recycling plant for Polypropylene. For the production of pp, segregation of pp is
done based on its color. Green color is used for making cloth, hardcover for pipe and white is used
for all purpose. The machine requires 200lit of hydro oil where pressure is same as the before. In
general, it holds the capacity to produce the 140kg to 180kg.
