Biografie

  • Asking Alexandria are an English metalcore band, hailing from York. They formed in 2008, and currently comprise frontman Danny Worsnop, guitarist Ben Bruce, drummer James Cassells, rhythm guitarist Cameron Liddell and bassist Sam Bettley.

York, in itself, might not seem like the most conducive environment for an aggressive metalcore band, but - as bizarre as it sounds - Asking Alexandria were actually originally formed in 2006, in - of all places - Dubai. The band were the brainchild of Bruce, who put together a group of the same name with entirely different members whilst in the United Arab Emirates before realizing that it was hardly the best place to be to launch the kind of band he wanted to be in, and make the sort of music he had in mind. York lent itself well enough to Bruce’s endeavors to allow him and his bandmates to travel to Connersville, Indiana to lay down a debut record, “Stand Up and Scream”, that dropped in September of 2009.

The album blended electronic sounds with typical metalcore blueprints to offer up a unique sound, one that guaranteed that the band quickly carved out cult fan-bases on both sides of the Atlantic. That’s something that they’ve expanded on pretty relentlessly ever since, especially in the U.S., where they enjoy the most success. April 2011’s “Reckless & Relentless” saw them crack the Billboard top ten, whilst their latest effort - August 2013’s “From Death to Destiny” - was recorded at seven different studios and saw former Killswitch Engage frontman Howard Jones make a guest appearance.

  • Asking Alexandria is a seriously hardcore metal band. I love going to metal rock performances because I know the performers are invested in providing a super intense performance. I saw them outside in a huge crowd of super excited people. There must have been 1000 people in the crowd seriously. The speakers were on full blast, and we were all ready to rock hard.

Danny Worsnop is an amazing singer. He started the set saying, "We came here for one reason to make good music," and we all screamed in response. I love when rockers realize the importance of giving a truly powerful performance. Dan Worsnop is a raw performer who put his entire heart and passion into each note, each yell, each grunt, each growl. I loved the energy of the crowd. Everyone was banging their heads. It was crazy. At one point Danny Worsnop paused in the middle of a song and had the entire audience sing the chorus. The chant of everyone in the crowd was mind blowing, and it was so exciting to see these wild heavy metal fans rocking out.

People started crowd surfing. It was true rocker mayhem. I love Asking Alexandria. The day I saw them was a once in a life time experience that I am not soon to forget. I mean for a week my ears were ringing!

  • The show was absolutley amazing. I had a VIP so i saw the band at a meet and greet before the show and the band was so nice and fun to be around.

The two opening bands The world alive and silent screams lifted the mood and made everyone jump with excitement. Everyone was hyped and everyone was screaming and singing their lungs out. When Asking Alexandria showed up we were sreaming even before they got on stage. I loved the quirky and funny conversations the band had after a song. It was a blast. The music was really good, the sound was amazing and the bands rocked!

I would 11/10 recomend seing them live and going to their concert, it was an amazing night that i will never forget.

Hopefully they come back to Slovenia again so i can see the concert again, but i wouldn't mind taking off to another country just to have this experience again!

thankyou for the wonderful night Asking Alexandria!

  • Asking Alexandria was awesome! The show was energetic and beautiful, ongoing all the time. The crowd didn't get bored at any point, we were all excited till the very last minute. The way the songs shifted from one to another was awesome, and how Asking got their fans to participate so passionately. I bet most of their shows were similar, but I don't know how many shows you get to go to where the lead singer throws a bread in your face. Absolutely amazing experience!

Special thanks to The Word Alive, who did the warm up for Asking. This band got me super pumped up, and I honestly can't tell if I enjoyed The Word Alive even more than the headliner. They, unlike other warm up bands I've seen, got the Finnish crowd so pumped they did moshpits!

My neck and feet hurt but I absolutely loved the concert. If you asked me if I wanted to go again, I'd say hell yeah!

  • I walked into the Regency Ballroom in SanFransico never expecting to have such a memorable time there. The bands that performed for us not only played their hearts out But, also made us feel like we Were one big family. The venue was very hot and I myself was about to pass out from a heat stroke But the fact that all the bands kept playing an kept the energy up in the room was astounding. I really enjoyed the fact that the bands would interact with us and jump into the crowd and grab our hands. Just a simple look in your direction from your favorite band member makes you feel on top of the world. That was by far the best concert Ever!

  • The Manchester show at The Ritz was just amazing. Great venue, good staff too. This was the first time seeing Denis Stoff perform with the band. He was very impressive. So much love for what he does on that stage and you could tell from the look on his face that he was overwhelmed at times. He does give a good performance and the rest of the band seem to have a new lease of life too. Lots of interaction with the crowd. Good mixture of old and young fans there. They sounded and looked great. I would definitely recommend seeing them and I will be first in line for tickets when they come back to the uk!

  • First off, the musicians in the band are phenomenal. Very talented and good stage presence. Then there's Danny Warship. I don't know what happened to this guy, but he has pretty much ruined the band for me. I'm about 92% sure the screams were recorded and was...well, lip-screaming. He also sings every single song completely different than on the albums, to the point where I didn't even recognize familiar songs.

The opening acts were all fantastic and the real reason I went to the show. I also got to meet Alex Koehler of Chelsea Grin, and that made my night.

  • Oh Danny! Well, for some of us seeing Danny walk out on stage was a total surprise. I had no idea he was back with AA and boy was I shocked and elated to see his smiling face up there! What an absolute treat to be able to see AA in their original line up. It was a fantastic show...albeit a bit overplayed on the Danny and Ben bromance, but nonetheless entertaining. All the bands that performed were amazing. The highlight of the night apart from seeing Danny was I See Stars...they were fantastic and it was a very energetic and entertaining show!

  • It was fantastic!!

If only I had arrived a bit sooner so I could catch AA from the beginning but I caught the last 4-5 songs. It was awesome that they did an acoustic set!! I definitely shed some tears for them. They are one of my favorites. I missed half their set so I am not sure what harder songs they played but Black Veil Brides rocked so hard!! That is what I was needing!! Definitely will go see BVB live again!! I wasn't much of a fan till I saw them live!!!

  • It was my first concert, and I wasn't disappointed!

I loved it so much. I'm waiting for my another concert and want AA to come back in our city one day! The atmosphere in the club was awesome. People are kind and helpful. Nobody was hurt, everything was ok, exclusive of people who felt sick because of crowd.

To sum up, it was incredible! I'm waiting for AA. Now I feel the energy of the concerts and I want to repeat it. Thank you so much, guys, I love you!

  • GO SEE THEM! THEY WERE AWSOME!!! Danny is just as good live as on a record and Ben was vibing! One of the best bands to see live! The band overall played together as a whole and they played 2 acoustic songs. Danny had a humble vibe and they seemed very happy to play for the fans. Crown The Empire opened first and they really set the tone for the night. Black Veil Brides closed and it was one of the best experiences ever! I would do it again!
