Collection: The 35-year-old old Australian star, who readily admits that she is a size 16 to 18, has spent the last year putting the finishing touches to her fashion line 'Rebel for Torrid'
Girl power: Models Georgina Burke, left, and Philomena Kwao, right, flank Wilson as the Rebel Wilson for Torrid launch party gets underway at Milk Studios on October 22, in Los Angeles, California
Opening up about being plus-size in the public eye and thin-obsessed Hollywood, Wilson says that she wants other curvy women to be 'confident and not ashamed of how they look.'
She told Yahoo: 'I want to promote people being healthy but also being happy in their own size. And if you happen to be bigger or blessed with that great gene of easily gaining weight or all the other reasons people can be overweight, you should feel confident in that and not be ashamed of how you look.'
Adding: 'In the 18th century, [plus size] was the perfect body type and that could come back again! I'm hoping sooner rather than later. But I get a lot of action. I'm not complaining.'
Wilson, known for her ability to spin out fabulous one-liners said that she has absolutely no problem with the term plus size or being branded curvy.
'Plus is good, like if you get an A+, it's heaps better than an A in your exams,' she jokingly told Yahoo.
'I don't mind it. I like the plus size thing, or being called a curvy girl. Whatever people want to say. I play a character called 'Fat Amy' [in Pitch Perfect] and I've become quite famous for it. So obviously, I'm not precious about adjectives.'
Squad: Wilson kept fans updated on Instagram as she shared on snap saying, 'Getting ready to rock the Rebel for Torrid launch tonight with the California Crooners Club'
Display: These clothes from Rebel for Torrid showcase the types of outfits that will hit stores next month
Gifts: Silver gift bags emblazoned with the name Rebel across the front of them were on display at the launch
During the L.A., launch party, Wilson performed a cover of 'One Fine Day' with a band called the California Crooners.
She excitedly told the crowd: 'What we've created is pretty damn dope. And it's totally my personality.'
Prices for Wilson's affordable fashion line start at $22.50 and go up to $98.50. It's set to cater for women who wear size 12 to 28 and will mimic the best in High street fashions.
Everything on offer is very Rebel Wilson, and even the zips on the clothes are shaped like microphones - as a reminder of her many talents.
Dress: This pretty black dress with pink polka dots is just one of the plus size outfits from the fashion line
Sweaters: These three sweaters along with flattering jeans and leggings are among the items up for sale
Outfits: Two models showcase some of the designs that were dreamt up by Hollywood actress Rebel Wilson
The Pitch Perfect star - who likes to belt out a good song - spent her early days as a stand-up comic Yahoo reports.
And in her teenage years, she was a rapper in a girl group doing covers of American hip hop songs in Australian malls, she told Graham Norton during an interview.
The inspiration for her clothing line came after she found herself struggling to buy everything she wanted from just one store.
Pretty in pink: This adorable pink pea coat, shirt and jeans are among the affordable items in the collection
Elegant: These two playful looks are among the clothes in the limited edition, 25-piece line to debut in Torrid stores in the U.S. and Canada next month
She told Yahoo: 'I have to really search for cool stuff. I'd have to get certain T-shirts that were deemed oversized by a regular brand, just to wear something that was slightly cool.
'I'd have to get jeans from a certain place. There was never really one spot where I felt you could get lots of your wardrobe from, and that was all on-trend and all cool.
'It was always a mission to find cool stuff. So I think with this collection, we've got a number of different pieces.
'We've got some looks that are dressier, some casual street wear, some work wear—we've got one matching jacket-and-skirt combo for the office people.
Monochrome: Both of these looks play off the fashion forward monochrome trend with a smart and casual look
Affordable: Prices for Wilson's affordable fashion line start at $22.50 and go up to $98.50. It's set to cater for women sized 12 to 28 and the look will mimic the best in High street fashion, like this look, pictured,
Chic: This blue sweater and black lace skirt are among the looks designed by the multi-talented Wilson
Autumn: This lightweight coat with leather sleeves paired with a blue dress and boots is another winning look
'It's good quality for the affordable price and it fits really well. I do a lot of online shopping, and I haven't seen a lot of it out there.'
Turning towards other confident plus-sized women' on television and the big screen, Wilson heaped praise on Whitney Thore the star of TLC's 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life.'
Wilson is adamant that beauty doesn't just come in one size. She said: 'There's so many beautiful girls. The two girls who are the models for my collection, they're just gorgeous.
'To me, they are Victoria's Secret models. They're just physically a little wider, but to me they are as beautiful as Cara Delevingne or Gigi Whats-Her-Face.'
