Those who styled the likes of Megan Gale, Cate Blanchett, Teresa Palmer, Emma Booth and Pia Miller managed to hit the nail on the head, while others - namely Kirby Burgess, Emma Lung and the Bachelorette Sam Frost - appeared to fall flat as they sauntered down the red carpet.
Kirby Burgess wore an incredibly risque gown to the event, turning heads in the shocking pink frock that put the musical theatre actress at high risk of a wardrobe malfunction.

Her Liz Hurley moment: The head-turning design ensured everybody knew the actress was going commando
The former Dirty Dancing the Musical star ensured everyone knew she was going commando in the lace-up dress that featured a diagonal slash across her torso and down her thigh.
The scantily-clad actress paired the eye-popping look with mismatched black strappy heels and clutch bag.
Ms Burgess attended with her fiance, Wonderland actor Ben Mingay, and posed up a storm on the red carpet, working her gown from all angles for the cameras.
While Ms Burgess turned heads for all the wrong reasons, Megan Gale stopped traffic in her sensational beaded Paolo Sebastian gown with a low scooped back and plunging neckline from his Snow Maiden 2016 Autumn/Winter collection.

Cate Blanchett, who received the Longford Lyell Award, one of the Australian industry's highest honours, went understated in her favourite designer, Giorgio Armani, accesorising simply with gold drop earrings and a gold cuff.
Also keeping things simple and chic in classic black were Anna Bamford in a striking Carla Zampatti dress and Emma Freedman in a strapless Rachel Gilbert number.

TV queen Kerri-Anne Kennerley led the way in her on-trend white gown by Carla Zampatti, and a hairstyle clearly inspired by Kendall Jenner's AMA 'do, with a pixie top knot and feathered, shaggy fringe.
Wonderland co-star Emma Lung erred on the side of under-dressed in her leather mini dress and knee-high boots for the formal occasion, which saw other stars arrive dressed to the Nines in couture.
While it should be noted the actress did win points for her Sixties-inspired bouffant hairstyle and orange pop lipstick.
The Bachelorette star Sam Frost took another fashion risk following her divisive Nicola Finetti ensemble at the ARIA Awards.
The reality starlet chose the same designer for Wednesday's event, showing off a whole lot of skin and underwear in a sheer lace dress with a full floral skirt.

Ksenija Lukic wore a design by Bianca Spender, but the colour appeared to clash with the E! presenter's golden tan. While her skirt looked as though it had lost an argument with a shredder.
Georgie Parker's voluminous plum gown didn't quite hit the mark, with the yards of fabric dwarfing her small frame.
Emma Hamilton donned a sapphire gown, which she coupled with a stiff up do, unfortunately it looked more suited to a high school formal as opposed to a glamorous and exclusive red carpet event.
