Woman, 41, charged with murder of 65-year-old man found in home with stab wounds

A 41-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of a man found with stab wounds in Adelaide. 

Police were called to a property in the city's Holden Hill area on Tuesday night where they discovered the 65-year-old victim.

South Australia Police confirmed on Wednesday he had suffered stab wounds. 

The woman, who has not yet been identified, is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

She is being treated at Royal Adelaide Hospital for injuries unrelated to the incident, a police spokesman said.

The suspect and victim are known to one another. A police cordon remained at the suburban home on Wednesday as the investigation continued. 

'Just after 6.30pm on Tuesday 4 April, police and ambulance crews were called to a residence,' South Australia Police said in a statement. 

'A 41-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with murder.

'Holden Hill CIB are investigating the incident and Major Crime Detectives attended along with Crime Scene examiners.

'The woman was refused bail and is currently receiving treatment for unrelated matters at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. She is expected to appear before court later today.

'Police wish to reassure the public that this is not a random incident and that those involved are known to each other.'

Police confirmed the woman and the victim are known to each other. She will appear in court on Wednesday
