Teenager, 19, suspected of preparing terrorist acts is arrested in market town outside London
- Teen arrested in the street in operation linked to arrest of another teen last week
- He was taken into custody at a South London police station
- Officers are carrying out a search at an address in Bishop's Stortford
Counter-terror police have arrested a teenager in Hertfordshire on suspicion of preparing acts of terrorism.
The 19-year-old man was detained in a street in Bishop's Stortford just before 7pm on Wednesday.
Scotland Yard said it related to the arrest of an 18-year-old man by armed police in a north London street on Friday.
Both teenagers are being held in custody on suspicion of preparing acts of terrorism, under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006, the Metropolitan Police said.
A property in Bishop's Stortford is being searched.

A 20-year-old woman was arrested in south London just after 8am on Wednesday morning in connection with the case.
She is also in custody on suspicion of failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism, contrary to Section 38B of the Terrorism Act 2000.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: 'Officers from the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command arrested a 19-year-old man [C] on Wednesday, 23 May at 6.57pm for the offence of preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
'The arrest took place in the street in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire.
'The man was arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and taken into custody at a south London police station.
'Officers are also carrying out a search at an address in Bishop's Stortford. Enquiries continue.
'This activity is connected to the arrest of an 18-year-old man [A] on Friday, 18 May, on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 and the arrest of a 20-year-old woman [B] on Wednesday, 23 May in south London for the offence of failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism, contrary to Section 38B of the Terrorism Act 2000.
'Both [A] and [B] remain in custody at this time.'
