The father of a girl accused of lying her way into Queensland from coronavirus-hotspot Melbourne has lashed out at reporters.  

Diana Lasu, 21, Olivia Winnie Muranga, 19, and Haja Timbo, 21, allegedly lied on their border declarations when they arrived in Brisbane on July 21. 

Timbo tested negative for the COVID-19, but Muranga and Lasu remain in hospital after testing positive last month. 

Timbo's father refused to comment when asked if his daughter was remorseful for her actions, and told media they were 'intimidating' his family

She was released from mandatory quarantine on Wednesday and was approached by media crews arriving home with her father.  

Her father was seen escorting his daughter, who covered her face with a piece of paper, into their home in Logan, in Brisbane's south.  

The man then returned outside to address Channel 7 and Channel 9 news crews. 

'She wasn't there to one, catch corona, OK? She went to Melbourne at her own will. Are you telling me she shouldn't travel?' he asked the media. 

'She made a mistake, is that why the media and everybody is intimidating her? 

'She's not in the mood. You have to respect her.'

He refused to comment when asked if his daughter was remorseful for her actions. 

'I'm not going to talk to you anymore. Like I said, you are intimidating us and I won't take it,' he said before storming into his house.

The girls allegedly travelled on Virgin Australia flight 863 from Melbourne to Sydney, to make it appear they hadn't come from Melbourne. 

Shortly afterwards they boarded flight VA 977 to Brisbane. 

Timbo was charged with fraud and providing false or misleading documents.

The trio could be fined $13,345 or sent to jail for a maximum of five years. 

Muranga and Lasu remain at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

All three of the women will face court next month.
