A web developer accused of stabbing his mother to death in front of paramedics has been charged with murder.
Callum James Cameron, 27, is in hospital under police guard after his mother Carol Ann, 63, was killed in their Perth home at about 2am on Monday.
Ms Cameron, a cancer ward nurse, called paramedics to the house in St James to help her son with a 'medical episode'.
About 20 minutes after they arrived, paramedics watched in horror as Cameron allegedly stabbed her multiple times and was tasered by police.
The 27-year-old was charged with murder on Wednesday afternoon.
He briefly fronted Perth Magistrates Court with a cast on his arm. He has been remanded on a week-long hospital order.

Ms Cameron, who grew up in Uphall, West Lothian, in Scotland, was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital but died about 4am.
Cameron was living in a granny flat at the back of his parents' home when his mother died.
Cameron's father was away for work at the time of the alleged murder and is on his way home to deal with the horrifying series of events.
North Metropolitan Health Service, where Ms Cameron worked, mourned her death in a statement on Tuesday night.

Family friends said Ms Cameron was a 'good mother' who'd tried to 'put her troubled son on the right path'
'Carol was a much loved, dedicated and respected nurse, colleague and friend to many within the Cancer Service within WA and will be sadly missed,' it said.
'NMHS is working with and supporting our staff during this time of grief.'
Ms Cameron's family in Scotland, where she attended Broxburn Academy, also paid tribute to her.
'She travelled widely after leaving school and had lived in Australia since the 1970s,' they said.

'She was a much loved mother, partner, sister, auntie and friend, who worked as a nurse and had spent much of her career in cancer care.
'We are all devastated by what has happened.'
Cameron was born in Australia and only visited his Scottish family once as a child.
WA Police praised paramedics for the confronting scene they witnessed when arriving at the house to treat a 'medical episode'.
'I would describe them as heroic, facing an incident of such trauma,' Detective Senior Sergeant Sean Wright said.
'Going to help someone and then witnessing something to this extent is heroic.'
Cameron is at Fiona Stanley Hospital and yet to be formally interviewed by police. The investigation is ongoing with no charges laid.
