Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was denied victory in his first Premier League game at Anfield as Sadio Mane scored a late equaliser for Southampton on Sunday.
Chirstian Benteke had come off the bench to thump the Reds into the lead with a towering header on 77 minutes.
However, Southampton forward Mane scored with five minutes to go, netting from close range to convert Gaston Ramirez's header across goal before being sent off in injury time.

We shouldn't be surprised to see that game end in a stalemate at Anfield. Only Tottenham can claim the same amount draws as Liverpool and Southamton's five this term.
The result means Jurgen Klopp is still waiting for his first win as manager as the Reds in ninth sit behind the Saints on 14 points.
That's all from me here. Thanks for following, all.
90+4min: And now Mane has been sent off! The forward picking up a second booking just seconds after his first with a tired and clumsy trip on Moreno.
90+1min: Now Mane is cautioned for the Saints as the Reds press at the start of stoppage time.
89min: There will be four added minutes - both team fancy their chances of winning this now! Before Mane's goal, Milner was booked for Liverpool and he will now miss the Bournemouth game after collecting five yellow cards.
86min: What drama at Anfield! There's a resined smile from Klopp as a Liverpool fail to clear a cross which results in Sadio Mane bundling home from close range. I have to say, I didn't see that coming.
83min: Now it's Liverpool's turn to make a final switch as Jordon Ibe replaces Coutinho as the Reds look to see out the game.
80min: A third and final change for Southampton as Gaston Ramirez comes on to replace Davis.
77min: BREAKTHROUGH! It's classic Christian Benteke as the Liverpool striker towers highest inside the box to head into the top corner from a James Milner cross. Jurgen Klopp celebrates with style on the touchline - he's loving it!

76min: There is now though. Jordy Clasie departing in favour of Juanmi as Koeman suggests he might just try and sneak a winner here.
73min: Exhibit A. Pelle plays a simple squared pass for Mane, but the ball rolls under his foot and out for a Liverpool throw in. Time for changes, Ronald Koeman? There doesn't look to be a sign of any activity on the Saints bench.
70min: Why break the habit? The ball falls loose for Emre Can 30 yards from goal, but he too drills powerfully over the bar.
Just 20 minutes remain but some errors are creeping into Southampton's game - are they just starting to tire a little as they continue to struggle in retaining possession?
68min: Whether the game opens up or not, we are highly unlikely to see a goal if shooting carries on like this. Coutinho rifling well over the bar from 25 yards.
67min: As the game now slightly opens up, it's another change for Liverpool as the home crowd applaud the arrival of Roberto Firmino for Lallana.
64min: I's a first change for Southampton, whose attacking influence has shrunk this half. James Ward-Prowse is on to change that as Tadic departs.
63min: Well at least the action has picked up, even if we still wait for goals. Lallana does well to bring down a pass into the box, but under pressure he can only divert a snap shot wide.
61min: But Moreno makes up for it with a vital challenge. Mane looks like he is set to race in on the Liverpool goal, only for the full-back to make a sliding challenge that was impeccably timed.
59min: That's three times Moreno has got into a good position, and this is the third time he has screwed up.
The full-back is found in space on the left but with time to cross in a good ball he plays a pass/shot (I don't know what on earth he was doing!) well off target.
57min: Lallana is furious with Moreno, and it's easy to see why. Emre Can's clever back flick tees up the full-back at a tight angle, but rather than play a simple square ball for the midfielder to tap home, he shoots across goal with an effort so bad it goes out for a throw in.
54min: Good response from the Saints after making a slow start to the half. They win a corner down the left following a decent Tadic cross, but Davis's set-piece delivery is just too high for Van Dijk at the near post.
51min: Liverpool are increasing the pressure and although Moreno is offside as his cut-back for Milner is intercepted by Ryan Bertrand, the home fans sense a goal as the noise is ramped up inside Anfield
48min: Straight away Benteke gets involved, as his diversion of a cross towards goal is turned behind by a Southampton defender on the line.
Liverpool in fact win four successive corners but fail to make any of them count.
And it's no surprise to see Benteke on for the Reds as the anonymous Origi departs. Southampton are unchanged.
Goodness me. I forgot Divock Origi was even on the pitch! The Liverpool striker has apparently had 13 touches (fewest on the pitch) but that's just about 13 more than I can remember.
Here is his heat map from the first half, and it's almost needless to say Christian Benteke is warming up for the hosts at the break.

But in fairness you will struggle to watch a worse game than that all season long.
It's been a poor first half at Anfield, and while there is a feel good factor now with Jurgen Klopp in charge, it's obvious he still has a lot to do to get this Liverpool side properly firing again.
Still, Liverpool have 45 minutes to find another gear against a Southampton outfit who have defended well and are not afraid to counter attack.
44min: There will be one added minute at Anfield - and in fairness we look no closer to getting a goal.
41min: Someone get some shooting boots! Coutinho manages to spot the overlapping run of Moreno to play him into space inside the box, but the full-back can only slice wide with a first time shot at the near post.
39min: And now Southampton have found another gear! A free-kick pumped into the box finds Virgil van Dijk in space, but the defender's header is well pushed behind by Mignolet.
36min: A rare break forward for the Saints, it's a useful one as Steven Davis finds Mane, but the forward runs out of space before he can shoot at goal or cross.
33min: Liverpool are starting to look a little more dangerous at Anfield. Coutinho and Lallana combine well inside the box before a lay-off for Milner is blocked by the Southampton defence.
30min: That's more like it from James Milner. Cutting in from the left, the midfielder exchanges with Adam Lallana before running across the box and firing wide across goal.
'Not a lot to get carried away with here so far. Liverpool having a lot of the ball but Southampton looking far more polished.
'Adam Lallana, one of Liverpool’s better players, has been getting a fair bit of stick from the travelling fans, who once idolised him. 'Adam Lallana,' they are chanting, 'we ******* hate you.''
Wow... tough crowd.
24min: Back into the game comes Coutinho, as he wriggles clear from the pockets of the Southampton defenders to curl a shot just over the crossbar from 20 yards.
21min: Chance for Southampton. The ball falls invitingly for Steven Davis inside the box, but he snaps at his shot which lacks power as Mignolet gathers.
In fact it lacked so much power I do wonder whether it would have crossed the line had the Liverpool keeper not been there.
20min: Well at least Mignolet is alert! The Liverpool keeper is forced into a neat bit of skill as he prepares to clear the ball, after the charging Mane closed him down.
Down the other end Alberto Moreno floats in a perfect ball into the centre, where Ryan Bertrand does tremendously well to nod clear to safety.
18min: Wake up, Liverpool! The hosts try to play a lofted through ball into the box but THREE Reds players are in an offside position as the offside flag goes up.
15min: Southampton are looking to play on the counter attack and Liverpool are rather fortunate to get away with the latest attempt.
Dusan Tadic charges with purpose down the right, playing a pass forward for Sadio Mane whose cut-back into the box fails to find a team-mate.
12min: Half-chance for Southampton as Jose Fonte heads way off target from a near post corner.
10min: Coutinho continues to be the focal point of Liverpool attacking, but Southampton are wising up to him now as defenders are starting to get tight on marking the forward.
7min: Still no real chances (Please, not another Manchester derby!) but Coutinho is looking lively for Liverpool. The Reds are constantly trying to get the playmaker on the ball and I gather Southampton's defence will have a busy afternoon trying to keep him quiet.
4min: Excellent defending! A pass finds Philippe Coutinho on the edge of the box, but as the forwward turns and shoots he is denied by a fantastic Cedric Soares block.
2min: The first glimpse of goal comes for Southampton but Graziano Pelle can't make contact at the near post as Simon Mignolet gathers a cross.

Big smiles from Jurgen Klopp as he makes his way to the Anfield bench. Merseyside seems rather bouncy this afternoon for the German's first league match on home territory.
MATT LAWTON: It was the enduring image of Jurgen Klopp’s first game as the manager of Liverpool; a photograph that captured an exhausted Adam Lallana collapsing into the arms of the towering German after 81 minutes of ‘full throttle’ football.
Only the picture was a little misleading. ‘As I came off I went to slap his hand and he went in for the hug, so I thought I’d better lean in,’ says Lallana with a smile. ‘Because he’s so tall my head just seemed to go into his chest.’
He said he was actually feeling rather good as he walked towards his new boss. Sure, the statistics suggested he had just run himself into the ground. But he left the field exhilarated, a rush of adrenalin masking any fatigue he might have been enduring.
Liverpool: Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno, Lucas, Can, Milner, Coutinho, Lallana, Origi
Subs: Bogdan, Toure, Benteke, Firmino, Allen, Ibe, Randall
Southampton: Stekelenburg, Cedric, Fonte, van Dijk, Bertrand, Wanyama, Clasie, S. Davis, Mane, Tadic, Pelle
