Jamie Laing has revealed why he is 'scared to have kids' with wife Sophie Habboo, despite both wanting a baby.

The Made In Chelsea stars tied the knot in April 2023 during a first ceremony in London, and a second one in Spain three weeks later, and have both discussed their desire to have children.

But on a recent episode of his Great Company podcast, Jamie's producer Jemima interviewed him, and they discussed why he fears having kids.

Jamie, 36, explained: 'I would really like to have one, but it has been a real long road because I was really scared of babies and I was really scared of commitment.

'The idea of not being able to escape something, with work or even divorce, there's always a way out. But with a baby there's no way out. There is no way out because you are committed to that little human forever and that for me is really quite scary.

He went on to add: 'Still really scary, it is a real fear. To the point where at the start of last year, Sophie thought she was pregnant and I had to leave the restaurant because I was so stressed.

'Firstly that is not a good partner. It made me really nervous, but also made Sophie really scared because as a partner you want someone secure and relaxed, and it made her feel uneasy.'

Sophie, 31, previously predicted that her husband Jamie will be a disaster when it comes to welcoming children.

Jamie admitted: 'I'm going to hate it. I really don't think I am going to handle you being in pain.'

Sophie then suggested she might have someone else present during the birth, such as her mum.

She added: 'I think you will have to have a Xanax at that point, or something, because your anxiety will freak me through the roof.

'You will definitely be like, "We are never doing that again." Because you found it so traumatic. And you will tell my birthing story to everyone for sure.'

It comes after the pair took embracing the festive spirit to a new level by recreating an iconic scene from the Christmas classic Bridget Jones's Diary.

The couple and Newlyweds podcast hosts put their acting skills to the test as they treated their listeners to a new Instagram reel to sign off for the year.

The duo recreated none other than the ending scene where Bridget (Renée Zellweger) is forced to put on her 'tiny knickers' and run through the snow-covered streets of London half-naked in an effort to not let Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) get away.

It comes after Mark finds her notorious diary inside her flat, which is full of insults towards him, and when Bridget comes back to the room she discovers that he's disappeared.

Assuming her new lover had ran away in anger, she sprinted outside with nothing on her bottom half but her leopard-print underwear - only to find that he'd actually just gone to buy her a new diary.

Of course, for the video, Jamie hilariously took on the role of Bridget with Sophie pretending to be Mark Darcy - and they added their own cheeky twist.

In the skit, Jamie exclaimed: 'Definitely an occasion for genuinely tiny knickers!' as he left Sophie to read magazines in the other room.

Then, she found his diary, which read: 'But listeners think Sophie is sexier than me, but she's NOT. I hate her! I hate her!'

Donning almost exactly the same outfit as Bridget did, Jamie realised Sophie had left and ran through London after her.

After sprinting away and running into 'producer Ewan,' Jamie and Sophie continue to play out the iconic moment as they kiss and Jamie exclaims: 'Good girls don't kiss like that!'

Sophie jokes 'Yes they f****** do!' and then the pair sign off by shouting: 'Merry Christmas!'

They also posted a behind the scenes reel which showed the extent of the camera crew following them around for the Christmas shoot.

In the caption, Jamie quipped: ''Definitely an occasion for genuinely tiny knickers.'
