'I don't need to prove anything to them': Director Gracie Otto talks stepping out of her sister Miranda and father Barry's shadow with debut film The Last Impresario
She comes from a famous Australian show business family, but Gracie Otto is making her own path.
The 27-year-old actress, director, editor and cinematographer is the daughter of acting great Barry Otto, and younger sister of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy star Miranda.
But you wouldn't know it.
The jack of all trades is forging her own path in the industry, and building quite the name for herself with critically acclaimed feature debut The Last Impresario.

The documentary has seen her interview the likes of Yoko Ono, Kate Moss, Anna Wintour and Naomi Watts about influential entertainment industry figure Michael White.
And although the film has played at prestigious festivals around the world and earned praise from industry bibles like The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, you won't see Gracie bringing it up at the Otto dining table.
'I don't feel like I need to prove anything to them,' she told the Daily Mail Australia.
'But people will always be saying that kind of stuff behind your back if you come from a well-known family.

'I mean, we all do very different things. We're different ages, different sexes... people think we always sit around talking about movies, but we don't.'
Perhaps it's this down-to-Earth attitude that has seen her wine and dine with some of Hollywood's biggest names all in the name of filmmaking.
'People are just obsessed with someone because they're a celebrity,' she said.
'I went out to dinner with Jack Nicholson and some friends and he was telling us about being in Easy Rider and watching it at Cannes, knowing that that was the moment he would become famous.
Big things: The director has been making waves with her documentary on entertainment industry figure Michael White
Jack of all trades: The actress, director, editor and cinematographer is limiting herself to one field
'I never thought to put up on my social media "Oh just had dinner with Jack Nicholson".
'Model Cara Delevingne recently said you don’t know until your privacy is taken away from you how much you want it.
'I can't imagine what it would be like to be Taylor Swift.'
So don't expect Gracie to be seeking fame anytime soon, with the bubbly blonde instead focusing on her work behind the camera, with several other features already in the works.
The Last Impresario had its Australian premiere at the Sydney Film Festival this month, and is currently playing in cinemas around Australia.
