Pop meets rock! Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine pays tribute to heavy metal band Metallica with graphic-print tee during radio interview in New York
He's the lead singer of pop-rock group Maroon 5.
But even Adam Levine can appreciate the talents of his fellow peers, as evidenced when the soulful singer paid tribute to heavy metal legends Metallica with a T-shirt emblazoned with an image from
the band's song Crash Course In Brain Surgery.
The 35-year-old was seen wearing the graphic tee - which featured a skull attempting the aforementioned procedure on a cartoon head - as he emerged from a radio interview with Z100
in New York City on Friday.

Appreciation: Adam Levine kept it casual in a vintage Metallica T-shirt as he left his interview at radio station Z100 in New York City on Friday
The This Love singer kept the rest of his outfit especially casual, teaming his white top with jeans, blue sneakers and a grey cap.
A silver watch added a touch of class, while it will soon be joined by a matching wedding band, with the heartthrob set to tie the knot with supermodel fiancée Behati Prinsloo next month.
The star will exchange vows with the gorgeous 25-year-old in Mexico on July 19, breaking a million hearts in the process.
Perhaps with his impending nuptials at the forefront of his mind, the groom appeared to be in particularly good spirits as he offered a friendly wave to fans as he left the radio studio.
Cool customer: The 35-year-old singer and The Voice mentor was dressed casually for his outing, teaming his graphic-print tee with jeans, blue sneakers and a grey cap
During his interview with Z100, the mentor of singing competition The Voice, who is currently starring on the big screen alongside Academy Award-nominee Keira Knightley in Begin Again, expressed his gratitude at being able to embark on so many different non-musical projects.
'It's only insane when I stop and think about it. It actually feels normal because I'm used to it. But it seems like all of these amazing opportunities keep coming up and I feel as though it would be silly
not to embrace them,' Adam told the station.
He added: 'It's fun, man. It's like, wow I've been blessed with all these things and I'm so enthusiastic about trying them.'
An athletic twist: A pair of blue trainers kept the This Love singer comfortable
Among Adam's endeavours outside of the music industry include a role in the romantic comedy, which hit cinemas on Friday and also stars Mark Ruffalo, although he plays a struggling musician who hits the big-time, so it wasn't much of a stretch for the newcomer.
'I did this movie for no money. I'm very lucky that I'm in that position,' he told USA Today of his small role in the John Carney flick.
He added: 'I want to treat [acting] completely differently because I have the very fortunate luxury
of not having to think of this in terms of money.'
Lovebirds: The heartthrob proudly posed with his beautiful fiancée, 25-year-old model Behati Prinsloo, at the premiere of his film Begin Again in New York City on Wednesday
Pumped up: The Moves Like Jagger singer showed off his toned biceps in a short-sleeved blue T-shirt while appearing at a press conference for the romantic comedy at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York on Thursday
