'Don't end up like me... you won't remember 2004': Osher Gunsberg warns ARIAs winner Conrad Sewell 'don't go hard' at the after party following his battle with alcohol
He has spoken openly about his battle with depression and alcohol at a time when he was under formidable pressure as a fan favourite in the mid-2000s.
And Osher Gunsberg recalled the days that he used to drink whilst hosting Australian Idol as he told ARIA award winner Conrad Sewell: 'Be careful of that after party, these are good years, mate.'
Pausing, briefly, the 41-year-old told Conrad, who had won the Song Of The Year title at the annual event on Thursday: 'Don't go too hard, don't end up like me, otherwise you won't remember 2004.'

'Don't end up like me, otherwise you won't remember 2004': Osher Gunsberg recalled his battle with alcohol in the mid 2000s when he told ARIA winner Conrad Sewell not to go too hard at the after party

Opening up: Osher warned Conrad at the 29th Annual ARIA Awards to take it easy at the after party
Addressing former Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian in the audience, Osher went on: 'We go way back, all the way back to those Idol days, they were good days, apparently, I can't actually remember them...'
Taking the stage afterwards, Guy joked back: 'Yes, they were good days, Osher, and I've still got the same name.'
While in the media room, Conrad suggested he isn't into all that and he had a natural high from winning his award, saying: 'I didn't do drugs'.
Earlier in the year, Osher spoke candidly to KIIS 106.5 FM's Kyle and Jackie O show how he battled depression and plunged to extreme lows during filming, and consequently became a recluse in his hotel room when not on air.

'It's like a wound that's infected that you think will get better,' Osher explained, adding: 'It won't, it just gets worse until one day it all explodes.'
He has also chosen to become completely sober following a battle with alcohol consumption during his troubled days.

'It got bad towards the end, I stopped,' he said. 'It's so much better now.'
Shedding light on the severity of his former addiction, teetotal Osher also said 'If I have one, it’s a hundred'.
When Kyle asked Osher if he had ever dabbled in drugs like heroin, the media personality said no, before adding: 'But everything's a good idea after half a bottle of vodka'.
