Baynes, Celtics seek series edge over Cavs
Aron Baynes and his Boston Celtics will seek to take the upper hand in their NBA Eastern Conference Finals series against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The pivotal game five of the best-of-seven series will be played in Boston on Wednesday (10.30am Thursday AEST).
The series is locked 2-2, with the teams picking up their wins on their home courts.
Celtics coach Brad Stevens continued to sidestep questions about speculation he will insert Queensland forward/centre Baynes into his starting lineup to give the team a physical edge in the opening minutes.
"The same contemplation as always," Stevens, asked if he was contemplating a change, said.
The Celtics won the first two games in Boston, but the momentum has swung to LeBron James' Cavs after they comprehensively claimed the last two in Cleveland.
"We need to be better in the first quarter than what we have in the last two games," Stevens said.
"When you look at it, the first quarter undid us in game four and even in game three it set the tone for the rest of the game."
James said his team of veterans will have to be at their best to combat a Celtics squad full of young players headed by rookie Jayson Tatum.
"They are as athletic as heck," James said.
"All of their guys are under 25 for the most part, besides (Al) Horford and maybe Baynes.
"But when they get out and run they are dangerous because of their athleticism so you have to get back and load and trust your first and second line of defence.
"It's just what is needed."
