Please stop reverting edits in sex assignment
editHi, please stop just reverting changes made by other people. We're all trying to create a good Wikipedia article and we'll need to collaborate. If you just keep pasting in your original text every time someone makes a change we're not going to get anywhere.
You have to keep in mind that we're writing for a general audience, about a general topic. Sex assignment happens to practically every single person born on this planet. It is not a bad or wrong process, and it is also not completely wrong to make an assumption(!) regarding gender identity. I understand that it is interesting to think about the corner cases but especially the lead section should focus on the three main points: 1) What is sex assignment? 2) What are cases where it is not possible? (DSD/intersex) 3) How does sex assignment relate to gender identity.
We're not writing an article about sex assignment in an encyclopedia on intersex conditions or transgender people. All nuance and details can (and should!) be described in the remainder of the article.--TempusTacet (talk) 10:45, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
Hi, please know that I am completely willing to collaborate, and if proven incorrect, I am fully willing to concede and agknowledge my mistake. After all, we are both editing the article in good faith.
However, please do not assume that I merely blindly revert/replace every edit done to the page, as this is not the case; I merely revert/replace edits/content when I believe that doing so will improve the article.
FYI, whether it is a bad or wrong proccess is irrelevant, as per WP:NPOV.
And yes, we are writing to a general audience, and as such we should not exclude crucial/relevant information in the lead.
Keep in mind, transgender and intersex people are cruitial parts of what it is, and is what the term “assigned sex/gender” is primarily used for.
Cheers! ^w^ Germany FranceUK Australia Russia Latvia (talk) 11:08, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
Hi, I don't want to assume bad faith but it has now happened several times that you have reverted all changes I and others have made not just in the one paragraph you're working on. This leads me to the assumption that you're reverting the entire article to the last version you have edited. You do not own this article and simply removing everything other's have done is not acceptable (WP:OWN).
It might be your view that sex assignment or assigned sex is a term predominantly used for intersex and transgender people but that is not backed by the sources in the article or clinical practice. Sex assignment happens for every birth of any human and every human has an assigned sex, which is often legally recognized as well.
I also notice that English might not be your native language. It's also not my native language but I've done a lot of writing in English in my life, even specifically around topics of the sex assignment article. I'm also not the only one who has pointed out that cisgender etc should not be capitalized.
Let's have a discussion at Talk:Sex_assignment#Intersex if necessary.--TempusTacet (talk) 11:18, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
Please revert this edit yourself. Otherwise, I'll have to report you for edit warring (WP:3RR). You cannot just keep on reverting other people's corrections of the article with the very same (incorrect) justification.--TempusTacet (talk)
Introduction to contentious topics
editYou have recently edited a page related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Edit summary, and editor communication
editAs I think you know already, the edit summary field is used to explain the reason for your edit, and to describe how it improves the article. Under normal circumstances, edit summaries are not about leaving private messages for individuals, as you did in this edit at Girl. (Which didn't ping the user anyway, because it was malformed.) If you wish to communicate something to me, for example, that isn't relevant to other editors of the page, the best thing is to raise a discussion on my Talk page. (If it is relevant to other users, then it may be best to add a section to the Talk page of the article, {{ping}}ing me to get my attention.) But a dummy edit to the mainspace article itself is not the best way to communicate with an editor, and should generally be avoided. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 08:25, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
Noted, thanks. Germany FranceUK Australia Russia Latvia (talk) 08:28, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
Username
editI saw the note on your User: page about possibly wanting to change your username. You can't do this yourself, but you can request that it be done. The instructions are at Wikipedia:Changing username, and it would probably be considered a "simple" request.
I want to be clear that whether to change usernames it 100% up to you. I do not intend to put any pressure on you – just to give you information that would be useful if you voluntarily choose to do so, either now or in the future. WhatamIdoing (talk) 17:15, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

Your signature
editHey, I've noticed that your signature seems a bit hard to read. Perhaps you should have better contrast with it, and it would be useful to have a link to your talk page with it. How about this:
'''[[User:A Socialist Trans Girl|<span style="font-family:default;color:#246BCE;">A Socialist</span>]] [[User talk:A Socialist Trans Girl|<span style="font-family:default;color:#FF1493;">Trans Girl</span>]]'''
It would render as this:

Article talk pages: Content, not conduct
editHi A Socialist Trans Girl, regarding Talk:Vivek Ramaswamy § User:HiResolutionEdits' content removal, please use a different heading, and in future messages, a different approach, when writing on article talk pages.
As these are about content, not user conduct, meta discussions such as who made an edit and why are unnecessary ("No meta").

Ile de Croy
editHi ASTG, I have listed Île de Croÿ as a possible articles for deletion. I hope you will contribute to the discussion over here. Thanks, DeadlyRampage26 (talk) 12:23, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
Please can you be wary of POV pushing, even WP:Civil POV pushing. I should report you to WP:ANI but I’d rather we talked first/gave you a warning. I don’t have the cognitive energy to engage in a longwinded argument Kowal2701 (talk) 21:18, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Kowal2701 I'm not quite sure what youre saying. Are you merely saying to be wary of it? Or are you saying that I am doing it? If it's the latter, then could you please explain what conduct of mine you believe qualifies civil POV pushing? If it's the former, then okay i guess. A Socialist Trans Girl 12:59, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- Cherrypicking the same outdated sources to push a particular POV with intent to mislead and no interest in representing all reliable sources. It is inherently bad faith and results in the encyclopedia being incorrect and is very time consuming for other people to engage with. I haven't interacted with you loads but you did this in RfC2 of the FdI article and on the political positions of Labour. Please just seek to represent all RSs. Please read this. You might find yourself at WP:ANI if this continues. Your personal opinion can direct which topics you edit in, but they shouldn't direct what your edits are. Kowal2701 (talk) 13:15, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Kowal2701 I just copied the sources supporting it from the previous RfCs, and included all sources for and against irrespective of date. Since (as you pointed out) this is not the best way to do things, I'll categorize the sources based on date as well.
- I'm not aware of any contradictory or significant qualifying information within any of the sources categorizing FdI as neofascist. If there is any then please let me know so I can adjust accordingly!
- I'm not trying to harm Wikipedia, please remember to Assume good faith.
- In the second RfC I didn't even link any sources I found on my own, I just linked the sources already stated/were already in the footnote of the article to ask which checco was referring to.
- In the Labour discussion, I just provided a list of sources as you asked me to which you concluded by supporting third way being added, so I don't really understand what you mean with that.
- I do seek to represent all RSs, and I concede if reliable sources do not support something.
- I've gone ahead and read that; looking through my edits, I don't think it is the case that my opinion can be deduced from my edits. A Socialist Trans Girl 02:27, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, please just be careful about it, it’s easy to do. Kowal2701 (talk) 07:41, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
