I noticed this year you added some info to Gita Kapoor.. Well there is an interview in Inside Soap with Shobu Kapoor and she talks about how she was cast into EastEnders. I didn't want to scan the article if no one is interested in adding the info, so would you be. It's just that you've always seemed more interested in the 90's characters than other EE editors. :)RaintheOne BAM 20:13, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
I've got the Nicola Stapleton interviews from the last few weeks too. There is also Sarah Ellis' mailbox and she defends mandy and says a bit out her. interviews
- The interview about Mandys return scenes is Inside Soap, issue 34, 27 Aug - 2 Sep 2011, Title=Mandy returns more wicked than ever!, page5 by Allison Jones.
- The interview titled "Comeback Queen" is from the same one above, though on page 6.
- Interview titled "Mandy's gunning for Ian" is from Inside Soap, issue 35, 3-9 sept 2011, page 18 by Allison Jones
- "Catch up with... Shobu Kapoor" - is from Inside Soap issue 36, 10 - 16 september 2011, pages 52-53, Kate Woodward
- "Soapbox" is written by Sarah Ellis is still in issue 36, but page 96RaintheOne BAM 23:59, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Question
[edit]Say a characters final scenes air one night. The characters body appears dead a few days later covered so you could only her hair and a hand, the actress and character are not credited. The actress says it wasn't her posing in the back of the boot. Would you use the credited or uncredited for a last app date?RaintheOne BAM 21:30, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
- I think the credited appearance as the last. Sounds like the hand was just a prop. I think we have instances for corpses as last appearances, but only when it's the actor laying there dead.GunGagdinMoan 22:14, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

hello
[edit]Hiya its good to hear from you after ages. I am fine thanks for asking. Indeed it has been ages since I last edited EastEnders articles. Back in 2005 I was a major internet addict and had a lot of free time away from school and then college. I was also an EastEnders addict having watched it religiously since 1999. In recent years I have been busy working and dont have much free time. I have also lost interest in EastEnders which was the only programme I used to watched on television. Nowadays I only browse through the articles and only occasionally edit. You and the others have done a great job anyway. I have taken interest in Wikiproject India now and work occasionally on Bollywood articles. EastEnders is quite crap now would you agree? It was best from 1999 to 2003 Shakirfan (talk) 17:13, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Yeah I like watching old episodes of EE. I have watched some 90s stuff with Mandy Salter and I read she is back after a long time but haven't seen her recent return. I have loads of old classic 90s EE episodes downloaded like the Steve Owen/Matthew Rose, Dan Sullivan/Bianca/Carol, Who Shot Phil etc. Those were the good old days. Do you have any old classic 90s and early 2000s EE eps? Shakirfan (talk) 17:10, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Survey
[edit]Hi Gungadin!
I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!
It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!
Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!
Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! - Happy New Year to you too - I was thinking we should finish that peer review off - I recall me and you already did some changes - there was one on their that was way to complex for my tiny mind that I think Frick could help with. - Is Frick around? I havent noticed her editing in a while. I will take another look at the peer review. Maybe we should list it for GA now? Because it takes so long anyway to be reviewed. I am hoping we dont get the same problems that we had with Mavis. We should definitely get cracking on Ivy at some stage too. Speaking of Mavis, you dont have any promotional image of her we could argue for use do you? I am not that keen on the grainy screenshot we have, though it does serve as good visual representation for her original appearance.GunGagdinMoan 13:30, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah that was my thinking, if we list him now as they usually take well over three months to reach the top of the queue. Maybe someone will take him sooner because it's Ken. I don't think she is no - but she usually goes at the end of each month then returns after. We need to find this without their watermark - [5]Rain the 1 13:54, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

Sam Mitchell
[edit]Hey. I was just reading this story from the Daily Mail and thought the image of Sam Mitchell looked familiar. Then I realised they had used your shot of her for their article. :) - JuneGloom Talk 15:56, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- Ha ha! Thanks for showing me, that made me chuckle. Newspapers steal our screenshots often. I have seen them take Pat recently too and various others over the years for their websites. The funniest is when you see that they have copied, almost verbatim, from something you've actually written on wikipedia. Lazy journalists do it quite often on their soap articles that are published online. Bit of a liberty really! They did it loads when it was anounced Mandy would be returning but there's been tons of examples over the years. It muddies waters a little, because a) If an editor didnt know differently, we could get accused of plagiarising their text instead of the other way around! and b) if something is written on wiki based on OR or biased wording, the replication by the press instantly gives it credible secondary source, despit the fact that they copied it from the original research in the first place! GunGagdinMoan 18:46, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
Jill DYK
[edit]Hey Gungadin! Can you come up with a good DYK for Jill Marsden? Here is one I thought:
- that DCI Jill Marsden (Sophie Stanton) a fictional character in the BBC soap opera EastEnders appeared in her own spin-off Marsden's Video Diaries, where she discussed the suspects motives for murdering Archie Mitchell (Larry Lamb) in the whodunnit storyline, Who Killed Archie in 2009?
- Many thanks MayhemMario 19:05, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- Would that be interesting to anyone? You can always submit it, it wouldnt do any harm. I think it's more interesting that she's the longest running police officer to have appeared in EE, but I dont think there's a source for that.GunGagdinMoan 19:12, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- I did think it was a 'cool, then move on' quote, so thats why I asked you for help, can you do some of your magic and come up with any? If so, that'd be great! :D MayhemMario 19:17, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
Dont be sorry. I am two minds about the discussions anyway, because if notability has been satisfied, nobody really needs permission from anyone to create a standalone article. I dont really know what DYK looks for, as I have never got involved with that before. Maybe George or Rain would be better to ask as I think they have more experience with it.GunGagdinMoan 21:04, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- You can try - but i'm not sure they'll let you have that one because it is in-universe. It has to be a real world fact. They got really strict at the end of last year with all submissions - They also try and reject if it needs a copy edit or the hook fact in the article is not imediately followed by a citation.Rain the 1 22:16, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- Has the list entry been expanded fivefold? - JuneGloom Talk 22:30, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

- Right here are the figures, User:MayhemMario/sandbox:JJJ says that Marsden's list article was 7,105 and Jill Marsden (EastEnders) is 43,130 (Latest revison:AnemoneProjectors). So if I get my math correct, thats 5 times. MayhemMario 19:55, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Images in Mark Fowler
[edit]I have found a source that would represent the fictional character truly, hopefully: http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/tv-film-news/eastenders-and-coronation-street-soap-favourites-170592
An image that collaborates two images into one may replace both images:
- File:Mark Fowler.jpg (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
- File:Mark Fowler (David Scarboro).jpg (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)
Look at an image of Ben Mitchell (EastEnders). One image that collects two photos. What do you and GSorby think? You uploaded them, and GSorby made some changes. Well, I couldn't contact GSorby first because... I don't know how he would react; maybe against the way I do, maybe accuse me of "commandeering", or something... Anyway, what should I or anyone else do?
By the way, I already created File:David Scarboro Mark Fowler EastEnders BBC.jpg intended for David Scarboro article. I removed the screenshot image from that article (without getting it deleted) for lacking a rationale there. --George Ho (talk) 10:11, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, I understand what you are trying to do. but just because you are merging two images into one file, doesnt mean you arent using two fair use images unfortunately. Both images would still need justifying.GunGagdinMoan 17:58, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- To imply, it would be better to leave two alone than to upload a collaborate image, correct? --George Ho (talk) 20:40, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
- I think unless you have a rationale that would justify comparing the way they look to each other, as seems to be the case in Ben Mitchell article, then have two images merged would be pointless. I suppose nothing would stop you uploading each promo separately if you thought they better represented the character for some reason? I would suggest asking the EE wiki project to get wider opinion.GunGagdinMoan 20:47, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Userboxes
[edit]Hey, I don't know if you've thought about it, but have you considered adding the {{User wikipedia/Rollback}} and {{User wikipedia/Autopatrolled}} to your user page? I was going to add them, but I didn't know of you were fond of them. Instead, you could have the icons in one of the corners. It will add you to the specific wiki categories. Thanks.--Chip123456 (talk) 20:24, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 25
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Sharon Watts, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Daily Star (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Sharon Watts
[edit]Hiya!
I saw your post on Sharon Watts' talk page about possibly nominating her for GA. Just to say if you do, if you want I can review her, like I did with Dot Cotton. I watch the page but I actually make very few edits to her page for some reason. I checked the history before I suggested this and I think I counted 3 edits in the last year lol and even then all of them were to insert hidden comments about Bryan Kirkwood so not exactly major edits. I do know a lot about EastEnders and sometimes it helps if the reviewer knows a bit about their subject! Drop me a line if you need a hand :)--5 albert square (talk) 21:43, 28 August 2012 (UTC)

Gungadin;
Finally have info on Sachak:
Court kindly confirmed basic details. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/55096653/aftab%20sachak.pdf
In 1973 he used an Afghan Passport as proof of identity to support a cheque that I negotiated for him. The cheque drawn on a Canadian Bank was unfortunately a returned unpaid as a forgery. Sachak was always utterly as charming as he was believable; however he was most emphatic on his background. The attached link to a scanned document form Isleworth Crown court is in the public domain and is available from them upon request. My objective is to amend his wiki entry to reflect the truth, and to correct the inaccuracies. Would you like me to take a stab at it and perhaps we can fine tune any issues to ensure the finished product meets wiki required standards? At the moment for instance opening paragraph lacks any attestation so IMHO beaches these requirements “Aftab Sachak is an actor, whose career has been primarily based in the United Kingdom. Born in East Africa to a wealthy family, Sachak went to an English public school before studying acting.[1]”
Aftab Sachak is an actor, whose career has been primarily based in the United Kingdom. Born in Afghanistan.[1] I do no dispute the fact that Mills wrote this in his book, but critically that the information contained in it is incorrect. Just because it’s in his book, does not make it factually true or indeed amend history.
My previous amendment which was reverted is manifestly correct.
Appreciate your assistance to restore the balance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jivebaby (talk • contribs) 16:41, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but there is nothing special about this image. In fact, readers may already understand the text of divorce papers without the need of image, no matter what. I've done images before for Hill Street Station, and I realize that text may replace an unnecessary image. --George Ho (talk) 14:30, 8 November 2012 (UTC)
- Also, File:Wilmmott kathy.jpg and File:Eeowendenise.JPG may be replaceable because the text makes readers understand the image MORE THAN the image does. In other words, they may fail WP:NFCC#1, and I already understand "assault" and "rape" without the need of image. Unsure about File:Dot Lou Ethel ee.jpg, but you have uploaded these images, so I wonder if I can understand how Wikipedia works. If text is already understand, then why is an image necessary? --George Ho (talk) 14:37, 8 November 2012 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Natasha Little.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Natasha Little.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 20:00, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Christian Clarke images
[edit]I think I can replace one of the images that you uploaded with a free image of John Partridge. It may not be a true representation to the fictional character, but I think one non-free image is enough, and free image is better than none. The first appearance, depicted in the section image, is not explicitly mentioned (WP:NFCC#8), and what difference would omitting just one image make? In other words, we can retain one of non-free image as an infobox image and an existing free image of an actor. I've already discussed this with GSorby, whom I parted with bad terms, so what do you say? --George Ho (talk) 14:46, 2 June 2013 (UTC)

- Hi AP, and thank you for the welcome back!! Life got very hectic over the last year and wiki fell by the wayside. I haven't even watched EE for about 8 months. I know nothing of the current stuff. Hopefully I can still contribute in some way around here when I can though.GunGagdinMoan 14:54, 19 June 2013 (UTC)
- Aww! You've probably not missed too much though. Will you start watching again? There are new characters for you, and some that have gone. I'm sure Wiki can help you get up to date, though storylines haven't been updated a lot for some people. You can always still work on the older stuff :-) –anemoneprojectors– 17:59, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Hello
[edit]Hello there. Remember me? I am here because I need your assistance on Carol Jackson. AP tells me you own EastEnders books. Would you happen to have "Eastenders": The First Ten Years - A Celebration or "Albert Square & Me: The Actors of Eastenders"? If so please would you be able to find out whether or not you can attribute page numbers to the information present in Carol Jackson's article? I was tidying the article up and I only own two of the four books used for sources.Rain the 1 16:49, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hiya Rain. How're you? Nice to see you are still around. Did we ever make Ken a featured article? My wiki memory is drying up!! I have the first ten years. If I added info from the other book, it was when there were previews to it on Google Books. They might still be there. Things seem to have changed a lot in regard to book referencing since I last edited properly here. I will dig out the book when I visit my parents next. GunGagdinMoan 18:42, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hello there. I am glad to know you check back sometimes. =] We did not know, but the process is so difficult to get to FA that I would never dare again. lol That is great news about the book. I have another load of magazines with Carol Jackson info to add - but I do not know when I will get around to it. So there is obviously no rush. But great that you own the book. You should totally come back to editing more too.Rain the 1 21:42, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
- I hadnt checked back in ages, but for some reason I popped on. I would like to edit again but It's hard juggling full time work and editing - At least editing to the standard and dedication that I was used to and I hate doing things by halves. It's nice thinking that some of my contributions are still about though. I put in so many hours to some of the eastenders articles and it's nice to think that info is still about for everyone to read (then I think, 'actually, no bugger reading will ever know or care how much effort I put into those bloody pages!!' lol). I think I might be coming up to nearly a decade of editing too. So scary!!! I think some of the articles we did at wiki EE were pretty awesome, as were Ken Barlow and Mavis! We rocked on those together Rain :)I have enjoyed my mini edit on Sharon today. Who knows, maybe the wiki bug has bitten again.xx GunGagdinMoan 01:34, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
- Gungadin, I'm so glad to see you editing again! You did a brilliant job of cutting down Sharon - you were always brilliant at this stuff as things always end up overly detailed. And you don't know how many times I wished you could come back permanently just to help write character articles! There are loads that should have independent articles but there's nobody to write them. Have you seen Mick Carter yet?! –anemoneprojectors– 23:16, 4 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hiya AP. So nice of you to say! I enjoyed my little Sharon edit. I will try and help out when I can. Mick's an awesome article already. That's quite something for a character who's been in it about a week! Who still edits EE articles these days? Is Mario and George still about? GunGagdinMoan 08:39, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
- George hasn't edited since November, Mario since September (regularly since April). The real killer is losing Frickative - she hasn't edited since March 2012. We lost Junipers Liege in October 2010. All people who would write really good articles. Now we just have about five active members. Even IPs aren't that interested in updating storylines anymore!! –anemoneprojectors– 12:13, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Hiya!
[edit]OK, I think I have now re-inserted all the images back into their articles that were scheduled for deletion and removed all the deletion templates. Whilst I'm at it, do you need any of the images above that were deleted un-deleted?--5 albert square (talk) 01:49, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
- I've looked at the EE articles tonight and I think I've managed to restore them. I don't know what the editor did to Lola Pearce but I had to completely clean the file out, looks as if it became corrupt with whatever they did. Anyway, the majority of the present characters should now be back to the correct images, however when I have more time tomorrow I will check every character--5 albert square (talk) 06:56, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
- His 5AS, thanks for doing this. Youre a star. I will have a look through the deleted images above and see if there's anything worth saving. I think the quality of the images that GSorby (and prior to him myself)took are superior and I think that unless similar quality images are taken as replacements, it shouldnt matter if they have a slightly new hairstyle. Nice to see youre still about by the way!!! GunGagdinMoan 12:44, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Shobu Kapoor
[edit]The article Shobu Kapoor has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unsourced BLP
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JMHamo (talk) 16:49, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
Martin Fowler
[edit]Hiya!
I uploaded a new image of Martin Fowler (EastEnders) earlier due to his head transplant last Friday. My opinion is because there is now 3 images of Martin in the infobox. I tried making the images of James Alexandrou and Jon Peyton-Price smaller as they're obviously no longer the main images, however I don't think that's made much difference. I don't want to lose the images, however I'm not sure how we'd fit them into the article if we move them out of the infobox. Thoughts?--5 albert square (talk) 22:22, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there. Yeah I see your point. I think the baby image, while nice, isnt necessary given that actually Martin was pretty much mute until James took the role on. Also, I dont know why I took a grab of the original as a baby when there I could have taken an older image of him where he actually had some more pronounced facial characteristics other than generic baby looks! I always intended to do a creation for Martin. There is parts to tell as he was the first baby. I guess we can delete/orphan the baby image now, and if I ever get around to adding the creation a Peyton image can be re-added, though in honesty I guess it's not an essential and would never pass a fair use deletion debate. Maybe there's a promo of james as Martin for the alternative we can find too.GunGagdinMoan 00:36, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for that. I've removed the image now but what I've done is taken a screenshot of it saved to my pc just in case we change our mind at a later date. That way we should still be able to do something with it. I didn't want to lose any images, however the infobox was becoming too crowded, however if I was to lose one it would be the one of Jon as James Alexandrou played the role for so many years. However, with removing the baby image I've managed to increase the size of the other two slightly :)
- Do you agree that we should use promotional images from now on?--5 albert square (talk) 01:34, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- thanks for doing that. it looks much better. yes i agree that we should use promos when we can, as it stops the perpetual uploading of inferior images and actually looks better. we only ever used the screenshots because we were told (incorrectly) back when I started editing (which is a disturbing long time ago now - I realise coming up to ten years! I was a baby!!!) that we had a stronger rationale for using screenshots under fair use. So all the cast cards we originally had were replaced with screengrabs. But promos seem to be accepted under fairuse, so long as there is no overuse.GunGagdinMoan 23:42, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I uploaded an image to Tina Carter earlier, when I did that I checked all the licenses out. From what I can see we can upload it as fairuse as a television screenshot, however the image is only allowed to be used on that one page. That sounds fair enough to me, besides it's easier to crop an image someone else has taken rather than try and take it from somewhere like Iplayer!--5 albert square (talk) 23:57, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

- @Diannaa:, You can just delete this if you wish. This image was the one being discussed in the conversation above, we have decided to remove it from the article in order to prevent too many images being in the article and the infobox--5 albert square (talk) 03:16, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Hi
I wanted to get your opinion on the image of Ina Clare.
To me, that image is absolutely tiny and it literally just shows her face.
I tried to enlarge the existing image, however that then worsens the quality of the image. It's only at 100px just now, I tried 150px and I didn't like the look of it in the infobox :)
I found what I think is a better image of her here. I had a look at the licenses earlier as I also uploaded an image for Linda Carter and my understanding is that we could use this image, firstly because she is dead and secondly we can put it through as a newspaper scan. Do you reckon the images should be changed? Or do you have any images of Ina Clare that we can use?--5 albert square (talk) 18:32, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hi there, I agree your newly found image is much better than the current. I dont have any images of Ina. I dont think I had heard of her before now.GunGagdinMoan 16:32, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Hello!
[edit]Could you please take a look at this?
I'm wanting to check that this image is under the correct licence. So I thought I'd ask someone who knows a little more about the upload of images than I do :)--5 albert square (talk) 19:29, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hi 5AS, sorry replying so late. Happy (belated) xmas! I dont know much about this sort of file to be honest. I was only ever using screenshots when I used to upload and things seem different now when I have looked at the varying templates and requirements. I wonder if you could post this query on [[7]]? GunGagdinMoan 13:41, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Daphne Clarke.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Daphne Clarke.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 22:11, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

Shirley Carter
[edit]Hello! Nice to see you around :-) Thanks for cleaning up Shirley Carter, but I dunno, I'm strongly of the opinion that "backstory" sections in storylines shouldn't be used, but where "backstory" events are discovered, they should be mentioned in the storylines at the time of discovery, and any sourced backstory mentioned when a character is announced should be as part of the characterisation, as in Ray Dixon, for example. Putting a special "backstory" section isn't reflective of what happens on screen. That's what I think anyway - I've never liked backstory sections in storylines. What do you think? –anemoneprojectors– 22:21, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
- Hiya. I don't have a strong opinion one way or another. But i mildly prefer them than not, because it makes condensing so much easier. These events are all discussed on screen, but aren't seen, so I guess it differentiates in that way. Maybe can ask 5AS and the other soap editors? GunGagdinMoan 22:58, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
- I agree with AP. It would possibly make the articles clearer too.--5 albert square (talk) 20:25, 27 May 2015 (UTC)
- The thing is, I've always left backstory sections as they are, because I find it very difficult to remove them and intregrate the information into the storylines. But thanks 5AS for your input. –anemoneprojectors– 08:58, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Hello!
[edit]Hello old friend! Long time no speak...
I've come back to Wikipedia (rather shamelessly) to ask a favour... You were always Queen of Screenshots, and there are a few characters whose pictures I never saved back in the day when every EE infobox had a picture, before they were all deleted. Just wondering if you still have pics of any of the following? Joan Garwood, Suzy's son Kevin (1996), Ron Hanley and his sons/baby daughter, Aunt Sal's Harold, Jack Price, Susie Price (and her husband and son, Darren and Chris), Doreen and Louise Ellis, Lorraine Wicks's mum Hazel Foster, Helen Pappas and her husband Peter (21/2/06), Ruth Fowler's mum Maureen and brother John, and Zoe Cotton's brother Eddie from The Return of Nick Cotton. I'm putting together a huge EE family tree complete with pictures and these are the only ones I'm missing. If you could help in any way, I'd be hugely grateful. Hope you're well! -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 18:45, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
- Also; Aisha Roberts, David Samuels, Jackie Stone, John Royle, Gidea Thompson, Stan Dougan, Jessie Moore, Rod Morris, Jack Robbins, Alison Peters and Jonathan Leroy missing from this spreadsheet I put together. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 19:02, 16 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Martin Fowler29.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Sophie Webster Cs.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Sophie Webster Cs.jpg.
Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 16:22, 27 December 2015 (UTC)

The file File:Janine Butcher and Barry Evans.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-free screenshot being used in a decorative manner in Janine Butcher#1989–2004 . The screenshot itself is not the subject of any sourced commentary within the relevant section so the context required by WP:NFCC#8 is lacking. The reader does not need to see this particular screenshot to understand the sentence "Repulsed, Janine pushes him away and he falls down a hill, fatally hitting his head on a rock; Janine watches him die."
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 16:25, 5 May 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Jenni Trent Hughes
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jenni Trent Hughes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Lou Beale's maiden name
[edit]Hello! Oh your page needs archiving! How's things?! If you come back any time soon (which you do every now and then), I wondered if you could help with Talk:Lou Beale#Maiden Name: Medeemey as I noticed it was you who first added this surname way back in the day (here)! Thanks! — ᴀnemoneᴘroᴊecтors 13:15, 20 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hey AP! I am good thanks how're you? I am afraid I cant remember. Trampikey and I did discuss this at the time on one of the talk pages but I have no idea which one anymore. Ultimately, I think its inclusion is not necessary and even if it was her maiden name, it isn't used in any significant way unless it's linked to Maggie Flaherty, but anyway and I think its removal is the right decision. --GunGagdinMoan 01:29, 18 December 2018 (UTC)

Sandy Ratcliff
[edit]Hello. Why do you persistently keep reverting my edits on Sandy Ratcliff? There is no reason to. I removed all unsourced claims, and added majorly to her filmography. Her article is now full of unsourced claims and just incomplete, whereas my edit ensured the article was up to scratch. So what's your problem? – DarkGlow (talk) 07:52, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- The aspects you are removing are not unsourced. The articles to which the sources apply have been taken down by the media source online, but the publication in the media still existed. I know because I wrote the entire article years ago based on sources and publications that I have, and these were all sourced at the time. I have reincluded information that you deleted without this consideration. I have no problem with you updating or adding information, but I do have a 'problem' with you removing material that was sourced at the time of inclusion. You say your edit ensured the article was 'up to scratch'. I disagree.--GunGagdinMoan 10:50, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

Disruptive editing
[edit]You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia. Use of rollback in a content dispute is forbidden, and is likely to result in the loss of rollback rights. You've been editing here a long time, and the long list of deleted uploads. above, indicates that you should be aware that your approach to nonfree content does not conform to WP:NFCC requirements. Do not again restore content reoved for failing NFCC requirements without providing a reasonable, good faith, policy based reason for doing so. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). [edit]Please don't put literally dead links into articles claiming that they're references, as you did here. Thanks! - David Gerard (talk) 23:50, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
- You are removing content from articles that were not always dead links. The interviews exist in news sources that were published. You going around removing content because the links are dead is ridiculous. Interviews for non controversial material with direct quotes that offer useful information should not just be removed. That is actually commentary on the character's appearance, for one of the most iconic characters in British TV. Stop bullying your agenda into every article.--GunGagdinMoan 01:56, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
- You're literally putting a dead link into an article and claiming it's a reference. And to a deprecated source. Deliberately putting deceptive and bad references into Wikipedia articles is vandalism. Stop.
- If you really want this information in the article, you need to find a Reliable Source to back it up. A dead link to a nonexistent page in a source that shouldn't be used at all on Wikipedia isn't it. This is literally just basic Wikipedia content rules - David Gerard (talk) 06:53, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
- You are completely missing the point that the dead link is still a published piece of news in a national paper whether the internet link works or not. Or do you suggest that only newspaper articles with an online replica are valid sources? Whether the link works now does not negate that it once existed and was validated at the time by trusted editors who tirelessly edited the article to make it as informative as possible (only for you to come along and decide it's not, based on your own opinion and not policy I might add). If you go back on news archive pages, you will find the online page prior to the current link's deletion. The information is a direct quote from the actress from an interview. Given that you are the one who is obsessed with removing even direct quotes from the Sun newspaper from uncontroversial material such as full interviews, then YOU should be the one who finds an alternate source, rather than just blithely deleting material that is commentary (from the actress) about how the character's iconic appearance was conceived. You are taking away from the article all because you are taking it upon yourself to remove every single source referencing The Sun without even considering what the source was for in the first place. You evidently think you are doing a wonderful service to wikipedia, but you are not in this case, and perhaps you need to recognise your complete bias blindness before you butcher anymore content (if your ego allows you to).--GunGagdinMoan 23:18, 27 January 2020 (UTC)
- Even if it was in print - it wouldn't be a usable source for Wikipedia, because it's the Sun. That you're literally edit-warring in a reference that doesn't work is just the icing on the cake.
- It's not just my opinion - it's an RFC finding and multiple discussions that concur. That is, you're railing not against me, but against broad consensus that The Sun is an almost-unusable source on Wikipedia.
- You're in violation of WP:BURDEN here. Please stop edit-warring in the bad source, that shouldn't be used for any purpose, and that a general RFC has stated is generally prohibited and to be actively discouraged - David Gerard (talk) 01:37, 28 January 2020 (UTC)

- You state 'generally prohibited' and 'actively discouraged' and this does not mean a blanket removal of all source material in every instance, so please dont try to manipulate with your very concrete way of thinking. You are wrong to remove this content, and you are wrong to blithely ruin articles by removing large amounts of commentary without even discussing it with editors. You are quite evidently disrespectful to the wikipedia community and are pushing your own agenda and you need to take a step back from editing, because it is you who is edit warring and you who removed the content without discussion and butchered an article. No one has asked that you do this. You are not being helpful. You are being disruptive, disrespectful and alienating the community of hard working editors. --GunGagdinMoan 12:46, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
- I think you should actually read the linked RFC and the many discussion on this topic. Literally every point you've raised here has been answered, multiple times - David Gerard (talk) 14:42, 28 January 2020 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Nikki Grahame1.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Nikki Grahame1.jpg, which you've attributed to http://www.flickr.com/photos/jackpearceblog/232052876/. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ytoyoda (talk) 06:12, 23 April 2021 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Sal Martin (1996).jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Sal Martin (1996).jpg.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 23:30, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Abi Branning.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Abi Branning.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused duplicate or lower-quality copy of another file on Wikipedia having the same file format, and all inward links have been updated.
The file File:Clare Bates.jpg has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the file should explain why.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 14 November 2023 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Grant787.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Grant787.jpg.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
