A tag has been placed on Little Anita's requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The two articles are borderline promotional and barely notable. Since User:DGG requested CSD A7, I think they should be sent to AFD.--180.172.239.231 (talk) 12:23, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine, though I disagree with the barely notable and promotional comments. They are very important to New Mexican cuisine, and have been recognized as such by both local and national press. I'm happy to see that you are being proactive on Wikipedia, and I appreciate your opinion. Smile Lee (talk) 12:28, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Val De La O Show

[edit]

Hello, Smile Lee,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Val De La O Show should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Val De La O Show .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Proposed deletion of Wake Self

[edit]

The article Wake Self has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Sources do not seem to establish notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Coffee // have a cup // beans // 04:48, 25 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that's fine partner. Perhaps I could clear up a bit about the sources, Local IQ was a pretty important Arts and Culture magazine in New Mexico, ABQ-Live is a smaller but important magazine about entertainment within Albuquerque, and The Morning Brew is a morning television program on Comcast here in New Mexico. I will probably have to create an article about Local IQ, since the coverage of New Mexico culture here on Wikipedia was abysmal, I've been putting a small dent into it, but it was terrible. Request reason:

I had nothing to do with this, you can look at my edit history. I would also like to state that I am noticing a high volume of threats to my website. Notice, how these supposed other accounts, have yet to help me edit my other created articles. And, they have never posted in AfDs with me besides those related to Heaven Sent Gaming, currently my big projects are New Mexico chile and New Mexico music related articles, and they have nothing to do with my company. I do not have multiple accounts, and I am not involved with an account called DunDunDunt. Smile Lee (talk) 22:18, 5 March 2015 (UTC) I would also like to note that the one other account I do have, Mystic Sonic on Commons, was stated as mine on that page. I would never use another account without saying that its me. And, now, edits on the Frontier Restaurant article have been meaninglessly reverted, and a delete vote on the unrelated Wake Self article is now posted. Smile Lee (talk) 22:27, 5 March 2015 (UTC) And, now, I've noticed that my article New Mexico chile has been moved to main-space, that article wasn't completely finished as merges with Hatch chile and Anaheim pepper were supposed to be agreed upon. This is completely uncalled for, and I have never behaved inappropriately on this website.Smile Lee (talk) 22:29, 5 March 2015 (UTC) User:Kehkou and I were working on that merger of Hatch chile and Anaheim pepper. And User:Northamerica1000, can vouch that I have my article creations to New Mexico (like El Modelo and Mac's La Sierra and American restaurants (like Rock & Brews) have not been disruptive. This is ridiculous. Smile Lee (talk) 22:35, 5 March 2015 (UTC) As Uncle on Jackie Chan Adventures would say, "One more thing!", I will be placing a ban on fans and HSG content creators from creating Heaven Sent Gaming articles on the English and Simple English Wikipedias at Copyright and Content Usage Page and we will further explaining our morality on our website.Smile Lee (talk) 22:57, 5 March 2015 (UTC) I'm beginning to believe that the accounts on here are related to a Heaven Sent Gaming team member that joined in mid-2014, I'm not a liberty to discuss who that is, but I will be ensuring that our entire team reads our new morality guidelines, and that the new notes regarding the English Wikipedias are read by our team members, this will not happen again. MfD nomination of Draft:Heaven Sent Gaming

@Rhododendrites:, I unfortunately cannot participate in this discussion, but I would like it to be known that I vote Strong Delete on all of those articles, as my account have been caught in the crossfire during this mess. Smile Lee (talk) 05:11, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Speaking more generally about the block, since the term might not be self-evident, when they say that "checkuser" confirmed the accounts, it means IP addresses matched. Checkuser is a special user right on Wikipedia because comparing IPs is considered a serious privacy matter. But it usually leaves little room for doubt when there's a match. If someone else in your company were responsible, I think any unblocking admin would have to understand how the IP addresses could match yours. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 12:34, 6 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Rhododendrites, I'd figure as much as well, I hope this whole mess with my account blows over soon. Since I can't get to the discussion, I would appreciate it if you could add a Strong Delete and Transwiki vote to the MfD, on my behalf. And, notify Salvidrim! that I have been able to Transwiki those articles over to a CC-BY-SA Fan Wikia, so that way attribution remains with the articles, just in case notability is ever no longer an issue with the subject, they can be modified for inclusion here without the possibility of COPYVIO. Request reason:

I was not the sockpuppet, I don't know why that allegation is being assumed. Regardless, even if I was, I have been making nothing but productive edits with this account on Wikipedia related to New Mexico culture. I would also like to say that my article, New Mexico chile was moved from my userspace by User:‎Skyerise, that article was still under merger discussions of the Anaheim pepper and Hatch chile articles. I have taken action within my company regarding the sock-puppetry incident, and it will not happen again.

Decline reason:

I don't know why that allegation is being assumed -- it's because the checkuser results, which I just verified, are unambiguous. Regardless, even if I was... -- there is no "regardless" in this case; you are blocked for abusing multiple accounts, and the content and quality of your edits are otherwise not relevant to this discussion. --jpgordon::==( o ) 15:43, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Likelihood of unblocking

[edit]

Sorry to see you are blocked. I hate to say this, but it is extremely unlikely you will be unblocked. I've been here over ten years, and as a general rule, when sock puppetry is backed up by checkuser, meaning that the edits came from the same IP address or dynamic range, the involved users are never unblocked, regardless of how logical their arguments may be. Why? Because the only reason checkuser (assuming the checkusers know what they are doing) should come up positive is if the edits are from the same computer - or being routed through the same router, which would happen if say a group of users were all editing from the same library or business, which is unlikely unless they are collaborating. So the assumption of most admins at this point is that you are not telling the truth because it contradicts what they believe, rightly or wrongly, to be fact.

The only users I've ever seen unblocked after checkuser-confirmed sock puppetry are users who confess to the sockpuppetry and agree not to do it again. And even that I don't think I've seen done from a talk page unblock request. You probably need to appeal via Unblock Ticket Request System per the instructions here specific to having been indefinitely blocked which is essentially a de-facto ban. Good luck. Skyerise (talk) 09:54, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not too worried about it, thanks for the concern, it'll get solved one way or another. As John Green once said, "the truth resists simplicity", and this is no different. According to my watchlist, I can tell that you've gone through my article creation history, you can probably vouch, that my articles are productive towards New Mexico culture coverage. And, I would like you to take a second look at the Wake Self article again, as the subject meets WP:GNG, and is not related to this blocking issue. Smile Lee (talk) 10:11, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Music articles are frequently held to the higher standard of WP:MUSIC. In any case, I don't agree that Wake Self meets GNG. GNG is generally held to require two sources that show that a subject is nationally known or at least regionally well-known. Specifically, the two sources establishing notability are usually required to be mainstream sources, not small local weekly alternative publications. The subject appears to be on the way to meeting GNG as I understand it, but hasn't met the requirement yet. An article in the Albuquerque Journal and the Santa Fe New Mexican would be enough, but LocalIQ plus The Santa Fe Reporter, even with the other (also weak) sources, aren't sufficient. The subject is simply not notable enough yet. Other editors may have other opinions. Sorry. Skyerise (talk) 10:41, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I am well aware of the notability guidelines on this site. And, I understand our position, I was simply referring to the reasoning of your vote, thank you for changing it by the way. I would like to offer a small rebuttal; "local coverage", is an entirely debatable, from my point of view, Santa Fe and Albuquerque being ambiguously, at best, within the same local coverage, which is why there are rules composers and performers outside mass media traditions on the music guidelines. I'm basing it off the fact that he's "frequently covered in publications devoted to a notable sub-culture", such as those covering the Albuquerque music scene. I do understand your side of the debate though, I'm a fan of his, but I wasn't entirely sure if he was notable enough for an article. It wasn't until after I found the plethora of articles that he's been covered in, which Santa Fe Reporter (published out of Portland) and Local iQ aren't exactly small, ABQ-Live is small but its still relevant and independent to the scene. Smile Lee (talk) 11:21, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Would like to apologize for taking your time, honestly enjoying discussing this with you. Since I can't do/perform my usual pastime, editing Wikipedia articles. Smile Lee (talk) 11:27, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No need to apologize. Just so you know, I've watchlisted most of the articles you created. Somebody has to keep an eye on them. Are you in Albuquerque? Skyerise (talk) 19:36, 7 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

According to the Unblock Ticket Request System "There were errors processing your unblock appeal: The username you entered is not currently blocked. Please verify that you are blocked by following the instructions above." That's odd. Here's what I filled out on it though:

  1. Why do you believe you should be unblocked?I have been incorrectly labeled as a sockpuppet. My account was caught in the cross-fire of an apparent sockpuppet incident. Someone within my company, Heaven Sent Gaming, was attempting to create articles about my non-notable company, and they were being disruptive.
  2. If you are unblocked, what articles do you intend to edit? New Mexico culture related articles, like I have been. My article creation list on Wikipedia is evidence that this has always been my intention: https://tools.wmflabs.org/xtools/pages/index.php?user=Smile+Lee&lang=en&wiki=wikipedia&namespace=0&redirects=noredirects
  3. Why do you think there is a block currently affecting you? If you believe it's in error, tell us how. I took action within my company related to this incident, including putting into place a morality page (AP Values & Principals style) http://heavensentgaming.com/about/morality/ and have added a note on our copyright and content usage page regarding the English and Simple English Wikipedias http://heavensentgaming.com/about/copyright-content-usage/
  4. Is there anything else you would like us to consider when reviewing your block? My commons account, Mystic Sonic was also blocked, and I've uploaded some of my pictures of the San Felipe De Neri fiestas, Al Hurricane, and a panorama of Albuquerque. ~ Originally, the user DunDunDunt was considered to be the sockpuppet master. But, the sockpuppet investigation was moved to the oldest account in the list, mine, Smile Lee. According to the history of the Sockpuppet investigation for Smile Lee, "Mike V moved page Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/DunDunDunt to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Smile Lee without leaving a redirect: moving to oldest account." I would appreciate it if this could be moved back to DunDunDunt again, since I had nothing to do with the sockpuppetry. ~ People that use the checkuser tool need to be made aware that the tool can misfire when the IPs are the same. Schools, universities, office buildings, companies, even public wi-fi spots, can cause this. As an admin on my own site, IP checking and blocking can only partially solve the problem, and usually leads to collateral damage. "The truth resists simplicity", as John Green once said, and IP addresses are no different, its an effective tool but that's all it is.

I'll just stop volunteering here at Wikipedia, that's a shame, I was just getting into the rhythm of editing New Mexico culture articles. Oh well, the bathrobe cabal has struck again, lol. Smile Lee (talk) 01:30, 8 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have fixed the issue with UTRS, that was a bug, thank you for noticing that. At the same time though, when you edit from several locations with several of the same sockpuppets, it's hard to claim "I have been incorrectly labeled as a sockpuppet". -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 16:43, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I will once again submit this to the UTRS, thank you for fixing the form. Though, my claim's not that hard, when you consider that I run an entertainment team, with around twenty enthusiastic volunteers using multiple computers across different cities, states, and countries. I can tell you that I now know who DunDunDunt is, and can confirm that they were the sockpuppet master. You can look at my edit history, you can tell that I'm not disruptive here on Wikipedia, in fact I'm constructive. Blocks should not be punitive, they are to be preventative, this block on my account and labeling me as the sockpuppet master isn't preventing anything, its like some weird Wikipedia punishment limbo. Smile Lee (talk) 17:06, 9 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:MaburahoChibi.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Norio Hayakawa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
