  • Wikipedia ends the year with 62,261,985 articles in 334 languages (plus 5 language wikis with 0 articles), which constitutes a 3% increase in articles over the past year.
  • Wiktionary ends the year with 37,864,531 entries in 172 languages (plus 20 language wikis with 0 entries), a 17% increase in entries over the past year.
  • Wikiquote ends the year with 314,215 content pages in 82 languages (plus 14 language wikis with 0 content pages), an 8% increase in content pages over the past year.
  • Wikibooks ends the year with 372,069 book modules in 99 languages (plus 22 language wikis with 0 book modules), a 10% increase in book modules over the past year.
  • Wikisource ends the year with 5,914,077 text units in 215 languages (comprising 5,834,907 units in 75 individual language wikis and an additional 79,170 units in 147 languages at the Multiligual Wikisource — 7 languages have content in both places), a 6% increase in text units over the past year.
  • Wikinews ends the year with 1,750,447 articles in 35 languages, a 0.5% increase in articles over the past year.
  • Wikiversity ends the year with 152,089 learning modules in 54 languages (comprising 148,340 modules in 17 separate language wikis and an additional 3,749 modules in 37 languages at Wikiversity Beta), a 6% increase in learning modules over the past year.
  • Wikivoyage ends the year with 134,012 articles in 24 languages, a 3% increase in articles over the past year.
  • Wikimedia Commons ends the year with 99,245,351 media files, an 11% increase over the past year.
  • Wikispecies ends the year with 861,531 content pages, a 4% increase over the past year.
  • Wikidata ends the year with 108,118,352 items, a 7% increase over the past year.
  • Wikimedia Incubator ends the year with 168,299 content pages across 1,290 test wikis in 914 different languages (including 18 test wikis that are currently empty), an 18% increase in content pages and 5% increase in test wikis over the past year.
  • The nascent Wikifunctions, still under development since opening to limited editing in August, ends the year with 3,790 functions.
  • There were 22 content wikis created in 2023 (10 Wikipedias, 6 Wiktionaries, 3 Wikiquotes, 1 Wikibooks, 1 Wikisource, and 1 Wikinews), 10 more than were created in 2022.
  • 3 content wikis were closed/locked in 2023 (2 Wikipedias and 1 Wikiquote).
Note: The article counts listed above are actual counts collected at around 00:00 UTC on 2024-01-01. All counts are based on what MediaWiki sees as constituting an article (or content page), as reflected at each wiki's Special:Statistics page. Language counts (which were collected in the last hour of 2023-12-31) include closed (but not deleted) wikis and count "Simple English" as a separate language when such a wiki exists within a project.
