Football fans all say the same thing after Timothee Chalamet stuns College GameDay panel with guest appearance

When Ohio University quarterback Parker Navarro woke up on Saturday morning to get ready for the MAC Championship game, you imagine that he wouldn't have expected to hear his name come out of the mouth of the Lisan Al-Gaib.

On this week's episode of College GameDay, broadcast live from the SEC Championship game in Atlanta, actor Timothee Chalamet made an appearance as the 'guest picker' during the show's visit.

There are only six FBS college football games on the cards this week as we've entered the conference championship phase of the season.

But that didn't stop Chalamet - or someone close to him - from doing his homework and preparing facts and statistics about every game that weekend.

From the first game the panel predicted, Chalamet showed that he knew ball - shouting out players (including Navarro), statistics, and trends that only the most well-read college football fans would know.

His knowledge stunned the College GameDay panel of Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, and Nick Saban. Plenty of college football fans were impressed as well.

Social media was awash with references to 'Dune' - where Chalamet plays main character Paul Atreides.

'I think I speak for all of us when I say, You have our respect, Timothee,' wrote one account on X, formerly Twitter.

Another post read, 'Never question this man's ball knowing ability again.'

'Wasn't sure why he was there but the kid did his research! He was great!,' said another user. A different post simply said, 'Well then... he just got hotter.'

Others seemed to cast doubt on whether Chalamet actually knew what he was talking about or if he was just simply reading lines off a page.

'Someone is feeding him lines haha,' one skeptic wrote. Another said, 'Yes, we all know it was staged. Yes, it was still hilarious.'

'Honestly if it's true Ball knowledge that's incredible but even if it's just acting that's pretty damn good acting by him. Either way I have new respect for him,' read another post.

Fans were confused when Chalamet was announced as the guest picker earlier this week, but now it appears he's proven those doubters wrong.
