Four wins on the trot in all competitions for Newcastle, and they are now up to fifth.

Unai Emery has hit out at Anthony Taylor for showing Jhon Duran a straight red card.

Villa were already 1-0 down at the time, but that decision pretty much ruled out any chance of a comeback before they succumbed to a 3-0 defeat at Newcastle.

European football may be on its way back to the City Ground after another win for Forest today, but Nuno is taking it one step at a time.

Remember, we've had our starter and main course of Boxing Day action, but we all love a bit of dessert, don't we?

Wolves vs Man United is about to kick-off, and then at 8pm we have Liverpool vs Leicester.

Fulham deserved their win. When Palmer went quiet in the second half, Chelsea had nothing. Defeat is a big blow to title hopes they insist they never had. They have made huge strides this season but they are a striker and a goalkeeper short of being the real deal.

Enzo Maresca has been insisting his team are not in the title race, and after today's result he might be right.

They could have moved to within a point of Liverpool, but blew their opportunity as Fulham mounted a late fightback.

Forest are flying, while Liverpool will be seven points clear if they beat Leicester tonight after Chelsea's defeat by Fulham.

Southampton had their chances, but it's West Ham who go away with all three points.

Jarrod Bowen with the only goal, as Southampton make a losing start under new manager Ivan Juric.

Big chance for Southampton as West Ham give the ball away cheaply. Dibling drives forward and should hit the target, but he can't keep his effort down.

Still going at St Mary's. Can West Ham see this one out?

Villa were never getting back into this after they went down to 10 men. Newcastle march on as they continue their fine run of form.

Fulham have come from behind to win at Stamford Bridge!

Forest are up to third.

They took the lead in the first half and did so well to hang on. Meanwhile, the problems mount for Spurs, who had Djed Spence sent off in that final seconds of that one.

Fulham have done it, what a comeback!

Chelsea are caught upfield and Fulham burst forward. The ball is squared for Muniz who picks out the bottom corner. Pandemonium in the away end!

Game, set and match.

It's dreadful from Villa as they give the ball to Joelinton. He drives forward and finds the top corner.

All over at the Vitality, and it's a goalless draw.

Into added time at Stamford Bridge, is there time for a winner?

Neither side look to have settled for a point, but time is running out.

Injury to insult for Spurs. Dragusin limps off in the 87th minute. They are going to see out the game with Gray and Bissouma in central defence…

If this does end in a draw then that would be a fair reflection of what we've seen. Both sides have been quick and aggressive, giving little away defensively. Chances have been at a premium for both sides. But never count Bournemouth out.

Newcastle thought they had a third and Villa make a mess of clearing their lines.

But Konsa's clearance hit Bruno's arm and dropped in, and VAR steps in to disallow the goal.

Fulham are level and deservedly so.

Iwobi bullies his way past Neto, and Robinson then crosses to the back post. The ball is headed back across goal and Wilson is there to nod home from two yards out.

Nearly a second for West Ham as Summerville is played through, but he puts his effort just wide of the target.

Still 20 minutes to go in that one after the first-half injuries.

It's Bournemouth who are pushing for a winner in this one, but Palace are holding firm for now.

Evanilson flashes a shot across goal that goes just wide.

Postecoglou has sent on Maddison and Bergvall in search of creativity. Nuno has responded by taking off Elanga and switching to a back five.

If there is a concern for Chelsea, it is that they are overly reliant on Palmer for a creative spark. He has been quiet in the second half and Fulham have been much the better team.

Southampton have been the better side, but it's West Ham who lead.

It's a deep cross the back post, Soucek nods it back across and Bowen steals in to poke home from close range.

Little change to pattern of events in the second half. Forest growing in confidence and Spurs not really looking like they are going to find an equaliser. First changes from Postecoglou, who has sent on Maddison and Bergvall. Maddison greeted with a chorus of ‘Leicester reject’.

Fulham probing now. Pedro Neto has just been booked for a cynical foul on Alex Iwobi, and from the set-piece, the visitors test Robert Sanchez. Enzo Maresca is still calling for calm from his technical area, as he was in the first half.

Excellent use of VAR.

Guido Rodriguez is sent off for a late challenge, but replays shows he slipped and there was no malice. The referee is sent over to the monitor and the red card is chalked off.

It's been coming, and Newcastle have now doubled their lead.

Bruno plays the ball to Murphy who has the simplest of tasks of finding an unmarked Isak.

Actually, Isak's task is even simpler as he taps home from six yards out.

Bournemouth have scored in their previous 10 games and 10 of their 27 goals this season have come in the last 15 minutes. Andoni Iraola is a master tactician when it comes to finishing games so hopefully this won't be a stalemate.

Shame for Palace to have to withdraw Will Hughes with injury - he was showing up well in central midfield.

Newcastle are knocking on the door as they push for a second.

This time it is Isak who takes a brilliant first touch as they ball is fizzed into him by Bruno. His effort is a decent one but Martinez hangs on.

A warning sign for Chelsea as Traore feeds Iwobi on the edge of the box.

The Nigerian midfielder creates half a yard of space and curls a good effort, but it's just wide of the upright.

Forster has to make a big save to keep Spurs in this one as he denies Gibbs-White.

Spurs still look a threat going forwards, but must sharpen up at the back.

The ball is in the back of the net, but Colwill has just strayed offside.

It's a brilliant cross from Palmer and Colwill nods home, but he's a yard beyond the last defender.

Jason Tindall was sent to the stands at half time and began the second half in the press box. Awaiting confirmation as to why.

An early second-half chance for Chelsea as Jackson nods just wide, but the flag goes up belatedly.

Chelsea lead at half-time thanks to Cole Palmer’s nonchalance (it was Lionel Messi-esque, the finish) but Fulham have been very threatening and direct in their attacks. I’d be amazed if this finishes 1-0.

There goes the whistle, and we are still waiting for the deadlock to be broken on the south coast.

Ten minutes of added time at St Mary's after a couple of injuries.

Southampton should be ahead as Onuachu gets another free header. He puts his effort straight at Areola. Must do better there.

An ordinary first half at the Bridge, illuminated by a flash of something extraordinary. Cole Palmer's goal was a thing of rare beauty. It served to underline the fact that he has been the best Premier League player of this calendar year.

Not a cracker, but still some entertaining moments in this one.

Neither side has managed to find a breakthrough, though.

An action-packed first half at Newcastle comes to an end.

Gordon's early goal separates the sides, while Villa are also down to 10 men after Duran's moment of madness.

An entertaining game, and Fulham aren't out of it by any means.

So far so good for Forest as they lead through Elanga's goal, but Spurs finished the half strongly with Son going close.

There was an eight-minute stoppage in this game for Fabianski, but we still could have had a few goals.

This time it is Wan-Bissaka arriving at the back post, but his effort goes across the face of goal and behind.

It's lovely football from the hosts as they look to take advantage of having an extra man.

Isak cuts the ball back to Bruno who scores, but the ball had just gone beyond the byline.

Newcastle then win the ball back again, and Bruno slips in Tonali who is denied by a brilliant save from Martinez.

Intriguing rather than blockbuster Boxing Day entertainment here at the Vitality Stadium. Palace are doing well to frustrate the Bournemouth press so far, sitting deep and counter-punching well when the opportunity allows.

They almost got it right when Ismaila Sarr scored but the pass from Jefferson Lerma came a touch too late and he had strayed offside.

Worrying scenes for West Ham as Fabianski has just been stretchered off with what appears to be a head injury.

Areola replaces him after a lengthy delay.

Chelsea should be 2-0 up, it's as simple as that.

Fernandez's free-kick finds Cucurella unmarked and six yards out. But his header is straight at Leno who gets down and keeps it out.

That is an act of stupidity from Duran. He slams a bottle of water into the turf on his way off, but he's only got himself to blame. He left his studs in Schar's back deliberately.

He was having a poor game before that, and perhaps frustration told.

The opening goal at the City Ground sums up the first half hour. Spurs on the attack, in possession and punished on the break. Spence lost the ball to Williams in an advanced position and Gibbs-White sprang out at the visitors, picked out Elanga on the right his first time finish was exquisite. Survived a VAR check for offside. Forest 1-0.

Duran is off!

I've no idea what he's thinking. Schar clears the ball out for a throw, and Duran appears to stamp on the defender. Anthony Taylor takes his time before brandishing the red card. Villa are down to 10 men.

How many times have we seen this - Tottenham caught on the counter-attack, and they're behind!

Forest win the ball in their own half and burst forward. Gibbs-White plays a lovely through ball, and Elanga is there to poke the ball beyond Forster.

Great save from Fabianski!

Onauchu doesn't do much wrong with his header back towards the far post, but Fabianski leaps across to claw the ball away.

Better from Villa as Digne forces a save from Dubravka from a free-kick.

It's a pretty routine stop, and Cash fires the rebound well over the bar. Cue loud cheers from the St James' Park crowd.

This time it's a tame finish from Cole Palmer, but he looks so dangerous every time he gets the ball.

He's got some pressure on him but manages to get another effort on goal. Not enough power, though, and it's easy for Leno.

Cole Palmer with the coolest finish you will see in the Premier League today as he practically passes it into the bottom corner, and then performs his cold celebration in front of the Fulham fans after all of their jeering of Tosin Adarabioyo.

A slow start here at Bournemouth with Palace so far not succumbing to Bournemouth's intense press. The returning Eberechi Eze already looks Palace's key threat off the left, though he has already been booked for a late challenge.

It's that man again! And what a goal this is.

He picks the ball up around 30 yards out, jinks past a couple of Fulham players and then places the ball in the bottom corner. Calm as you like, just brilliant.

Twelve mins gone and the first “We Want Levy Out” chants can be heard from the away end. Spurs have had chances. The best of them to Son saved by Sels after a mistake in possession by Murillo. Forest have threatened on the break. Hudson-Odoi fizzing one effort over. In the balance.

We should have had a goal or two already at St Mary's.

This time it is Southampton who go close as Onuachu gets a header away from just six yards out, but there's not enough conviction as hie effort goes just wide.

Eddie Howe said that Sandro Tonali was more than just a clever passer when comparing him to Andrea Pirlo earlier this week. His contribution for the opening goal was a strong interception on halfway, his second inside the opening minute.

Howe is right when he says Tonali improves the team defensively and offensively.

A decent start from Fulham who have won the ball back high up the pitch a couple of times already.

Yet to fashion a big chance themselves, but they'll be happy enough with their start in this one.

West Ham get in down the right and Wan-Bissaka cuts the ball back for Soler.

He's got the goal at his mercy, but his effort ratlles off the crossbar and comes back out. Big let-off for the hosts.

What a start for the Magpies! It's taken just 80 seconds as Newcastle winthe ball in the middle of the park.

The ball is swept out to Anthony Gordon who sets the ball and then curls it into the far corner.

Big boos for Tosin Adarabioyo from the Fulham fans, after leaving them for Chelsea in the summer on a free. He's got a big job on his hands today, starting alongside Levi Colwill with Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile both sidelined.

No Tino Livramento this afternoon as he is ill. A chance for Kieran Trippier to stake his claim for more game time.

Warm applause for Spence from the home crowd as the players go back in after the warm-ups… there’s a frisson of excitement in the air about Forest looking towards Europe at the turn of the year for the first time in a long time. Last European campaign was 95/96 in the UEFA Cup.

Kammy will be covering Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham for Amazon Prime and has opened up on coping with speech apraxia.

Quite a show of faith in Djed Spence today from Ange Postecoglou. Spence starts for the fourth game in a row having waited two and half years and been overlooked by Postecoglou for 18 months before his first Spurs start.

The previous three games were with injury and fatigue issues in mind but today with both Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie fit and available, Spence is selected to start at right back against the club he helped win promotion to the Premier League while on loan from Middlesbrough.

Amazon Prime have been getting in the Christmas spirit, with commentator Jon Champion reading a festive poem ahead of their coverage of this afternoon's Premier League action.

The early kick-off has just finished and it's more dropped points for Man City as they have been held to a 1-1 draw by Everton.

No surprises in Chelsea's line-up, it's as we were predicting. Marc Cucurella is one change as he's now back from his one-game suspension.

I'll be interested to see how Antonee Robinson does today as he's a full back winning plenty of admirers, Liverpool included.

Prediction? I'll go 3-1 to Chelsea.

As expected for Newcastle, Joelinton returns to the midfield after suspension. And, again, all eyes will be on the home eninge-room.

Eddie Howe compared Sandro Tonali to Andrea Pirlo this week, and, with the Italian at No6, the team has looked so much better.

But this is a different test to Leicester and Ipswich. Crucially, a win would take Newcastle above Villa in the table, and what an incentive that is for the hosts.

Tottenham may be the most inconsistent team in the league, but Ange Postecoglou is adamant he will not be changing his tactics for anyone.

Cole Palmer has arguably been the best player in the Premier League over the past 18 months, but Enzo Maresca has insisted he can get even better and must continue to prove himself.
