Paul Pogba has teased Manchester United fans with a series of posts suggesting a sensational third stint at the club could be on the cards.

The French World Cup winner has been without a club since mid-November when he left Juventus.

He has been training in Miami - showing off an extremely toned physique in one video - and is hoping to join a club this month, according to The Athletic

His four-year drugs ban was slashed to 18 months earlier this season, meaning he is free to play again from March.

He has been linked with the likes of Marseille, Manchester City, and Corinthians, but his latest social media activity has proferred another possibility: joining United for a third time.

On Monday night, Pogba shared a puzzling cartoon of him and Amad Diallo stood alongside each other in Manchester United shirts.

It would certainly mark one of the most shocking transfers in recent Premier League history given how he left on a free transfer in 2022, six years after joining for £89million from Juventus.

His first season, under Jose Mourinho, saw United win both the EFL Cup and the UEFA Europa League - but that would prove to be the only silverware he won there.

United also reached the Europa League final in 2020-21 but were beaten by Villarreal in a marathon penalty shoot-out in Gdansk.

In all, Pogba played 226 times during his second spell, scoring 39 goals and setting up a further 51.

But it can't be denied his failure to live up to that enormous transfer fee apart from odd flashes of form contributed to United's declining standards.

The fact he won the 2018 World Cup with France but failed to replicate his international form at club level only frustrated United followers.

His time at the club ended ignominiously as fans jeered him and chanted 'f**k off Pogba' during a home game against Norwich.

And when he limped off with a calf injury just 10 minutes into a 4-0 defeat at Liverpool in April, that would prove to be a fittingly underwhelming final act.

There had never been much prospect of Pogba extending his time with United with contract renewal talks not getting off the ground.

United initially signed Pogba as a 16-year-old from French club Le Havre, with Sir Alex Ferguson handing the young tyro a debut against Leeds United in the League Cup in October 2011.

But after a fall-out with Pogba's agent Mino Raiola and amid strong competitions for places in United's midfield, he moved to Juventus in the summer of 2012.
