Golfing legend John Daly has celebrated the results of Tuesday's US presidential election, claiming 'Daddy Trump' is the right person to lead America.
Donald Trump sealed a triumphant return to the White House this week, sweeping aside Vice President Kamala Harris in a nightmare for the Democratic party.
While many celebrities have been left distraught at the results - some even threatening to flee the country - Daly, who was left devastated by Hurricane Helene, welcomed the US's new president-elect with open arms.
The 58-year-old professional golfer, who has been an avid supporter of Trump, claimed the nation was in need of his leadership, citing the 'miracles' he performed during his first term in office.
'Our country needs Daddy Trump, and what he did…. [when] he became president, our 45th… What he did for four years was a miracle,' Daly said on Fox & Friends Friday.

'He got us out of a lot of a lot of things. All he wants to do is protect our country. It's like we want to protect our kids and our family. Daddy Trump wants to protect America, and he's going to do it again.'
Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 election in the early hours of Wednesday morning and as of Friday had claimed 295 electoral votes after sweeping the swing states that had already been called, including Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina.
The 78-year-old also led Harris in the popular vote by 4 million as of Friday afternoon.
Daly credited Trump's overwhelming success to his America-first policies, including his stance on immigration.
He also issued a response to celebrities and sports stars, such as Cardi B, Cher and LeBron James, described by the Fox & Friends hosts as 'reeling' over the results.
'It goes back to protect our family,' Daly added. 'You've got to protect our borders. You've got to protect the American citizens. You've got to protect the family before you can protect anybody else, and that's what 'daddy' wants to do.
'What's going on [with] the… Venezuela gangs in Colorado taking over apartments and people and immigrants taking over hotels and stuff… you've got to protect the family, and that's America.'
'Protect them first, and then we can worry about… a lot of other stuff outside of the United States,' he continued.

The two-time major winner has known Trump since the 1990s and has played golf with him

'But Daddy Trump's all about America and his common sense to protect the ones that live in our country, and he's just an amazing human being. The whole family's amazing. All they want to do is protect us.'
Daly, a former PGA Tour stalwart who now primarily plays on the senior tour, has known the former president for over three decades, even describing him as a 'great friend' in a 2017 Instagram post.
Just last December, Daly boldly declared to Tucker Carlson that he and the majority of his fellow professionals wanted to see Trump reassume power of the White House.
Trump, who is known to be an avid golf fan and owns several courses, has most recently been a prominent figure at LIV Golf tournaments, where he has been warmly welcomed by the likes of Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau.
He also boldly, and bizarrely, claimed that some of the biggest international conflicts in recent years would have been avoided if the 45th President had secured a second term back in November 2020, referencing Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and most recently the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in October 2023.
'I'll have his back till I die,' Daly said. 'He's one of the greatest human beings I've ever met. The family is awesome. Once you get to know them, they're just good-hearted people. He only wants to help Americans and protect our country.
'I think Putin never would've invaded Ukraine and I don't Hamas would've attacked Israel like they did if Trump was in office.'
Daly, who won five times on the PGA Tour, revealed that Trump had predicted his own presidency back in the 1990s during a conversation with the professional golfer at a pro-am.
