The laughter express: The London to Glasgow train on track to host comedy gig
If you tend to prefer the quiet carriage on a train, then it's probably best to avoid the 2.30pm London Euston to Glasgow service on February 27.
Transporting a host of comedians to Scotland ahead of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, the train is putting aside a dedicated 'comedy carriage' with performances from the likes of Patrick Monahan and Australian star Damian Clark.

Passengers can sit back and enjoy the comedy as they cross the border, with the special gig hosted by Scottish favourite Bruce Devlin and featuring John Hastings, Jojo Sutherland, Ray Bradshaw, John Gavin and Phil Nichol.
The eight comedians will also be appearing at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, which runs from March 14 to April 5.
Festival director Sarah Watson said: 'We've done gigs in airports, stations and on streets but this is the first time that we've tried a comedy set on a train.
'You need nerves of steel to get up on any stage but this is a particularly daunting proposition. Luckily we have some of the best names in the business so we're guaranteed some laughs on the journey.'
On track: The train will have a dedicated 'comedy carriage' where the eight stars will perform
The comedy carriage will have unreserved seating and entry will not cost more than the price of a train ticket.
Demand for the event is expected to be high and there will be a giveaway of three pairs of tickets which passengers can apply for by tweeting @VirginTrains using the hashtag #gicf.
Those attending gigs at the festival are also entitled to 20 per cent off advance tickets to and from Glasgow.
Adrian Varma, of Virgin Trains, said: 'We're always up for trying something a bit different at Virgin Trains and this is definitely one of the most unusual events we've been involved with yet.
'It's a great line-up to see in any venue and I'm really looking forward to seeing how they manage the space.'
