Some MailOnline readers believe Montell's dance-off opponent Tasha Ghouri should have waved farewell to Strictly tonight instead because of her dance training.

Johannes reference to Montell has a 'non-dancer' has not gone unnoticed with our viewers with a few claiming that should have helped her progress tonight.

Deserray

Tasha should have gone. Trained dancer up against people who have never danced a step!! Total fix. Montelle should have stayed

Danny1959

Couldn't agree more

However, some say the judges' decision was the right one

nicknack_

Come on, Tasha was the best dancer by a country mile. At this stage of the competition I want to watch who's the best, regardless of past experience. That said, I hope Sarah or JB lifts the glitterball.

JB and Lauren were just brilliant last night. The best dance of the night in my opinion. I wish so much they could hold up the glitter ball. Also, so unfair about who was voted off as she was not the worst dancer.

Leila

Chris or JB for the win. I like tasha as well but as a professional dancer she obviously has an advantage. I really can’t believe Pete is in the semi final this is a bit crazy.

Sharon44

Pete’s absolutely rubbish , he makes mistakes , he literally has no rhythm & he’s always making mistakes !! Awful dancer !
20:10

Pete's survival likened to Brexit and Trump

A quick scan on X and it appears the Strictly viewers are not impressed Pete has survived another week on the ballroom to reach next week's semi-final.

Consistently last in the leaderboard but a hit with the public vote, he couldn't pull it off could he?

That's it!

Thanks for joining us - we will keep the blog running to include some reaction.

Was Montell unlucky tonight?

Judges clearly felt she was deserving of a place in the semis but once Tasha and Aljaz were facing her in the dance off it felt like the writing was on the wall.

Here's some words from a clearly Montell as she is eliminated.

Johannes has been amazing. Strictly has touched me in ways I never knew possible. I’m an Olympian and a Gladiator but I have honestly struggled with confidence my whole life. Being on the show, with the beautiful crew, judges and cast, has just been such an honour.

Johannes adds:

I am so proud of you because, honey, you are a non-dancer. But the one thing that you have done every single week is turn out beautiful dancing. So I want to say thank you for respecting our art form of ballroom and Latin. The way you handled it was like a true pro. You’re my winner.

The couple now have their final dance and are serenaded by their ballroom rivals.

Montell Douglas has been eliminated as Anton also saves Tasha.

Shirley's ruling wasnt' needed but she adds she would have also picked Tasha to make it a unanimous decision.

19:58

Motsi picks Tasha

Motsi has also saved Tasha.

Looks ominous as Anton speaks.

19:57

Craig saves Tasha

Craig says neither couple should be in the dance off but he saves Tasha and Aljaz based on their techincal performance.

19:57

Down to the judges...

The judges are about to give their verdicts...

This is it - who's going home?

19:56

Tasha and Aljaz up now

Tasha and Aljaz are up now with their Argentine Tango to Ex-Wives from Six.

It got them 38 on Saturday and a similar standard here will surely be too much for Montell.

The crowd loves it as they give a round of applause mid-routine.

Have they sealed their spot in the semis?

Montell and Johannes are up first in the dance off with their rumba to The Color Purple's I'm Here

The pair scored 32 on Saturday night.

Tough task judging by their opponents so this will have to be very special.

19:49

Professionals take centre stage

The Strictly professionals are now taking centre stage with a musicals-themed dance to As If We Never Said Goodbye from Sunset Boulevard.

The Andrew Lloyd Webber number is about a heroine’s longing to return to the spotlight.

19:44

JB to dance on his birthday

JB tells Claudia he will dance on his birthday next week with his mother in the crowd.

His partner Lauren says their progression is bittersweet as they'll shortly be saying goodbye to either Tasha or Montell.

19:42

Montell v Tasha in the dance off

Montell and Johannes will join Tasha and Aljaz in the dance-off

Speaking to Tess, Montell says she's glad to dance that 'beautiful' rumba in the quarters.

Means Sarah and Vito will head to next week.

19:41

JB through!

Tess Daly is back with the results and declares JB is through to the semis

19:38

Motsi Mabuse 'speechless' over Tasha

The judges are now on the couch with Claudia Winkleman and it's fair to say they're in disbelief that Tasha Ghouri is in the dance-off.

Motsi Mabuse has said she is 'speechless' but that the public have spoken.

Some love for Pete as well as Craig says he loves his commitment to his routines and can understand why he's a hit with the viewers.

Pete jokes public are playing 'cruel trick' on him

An almost sheepish Pete Wicks has joked the public may be playing a 'cruel trick' on him as he reacts to securing a spot in next week's semi-final.

Despite being permanently rooted to the bottom of the leaderboard, he must be doing something right with the public because viewers are not ready to see him go.

Could he go all the way?

19:29

Tasha in the dance-off

Did not see this coming...

Tasha scored the perfect 40 last week and a not too shabby 38 this one but she's in the dance off.

Craig has just described her as one of the best dancers in the competition so surely this spells trouble for whoever she's up against?

19:27

Chris through!

Chris McCausland will also be in the semi-final next week - two out of the bottom three have sailed through.

Surprising start!

19:27

Pete through to semi-final

He's done it again!

Pete Wicks has made it through to the semis...somehow

Let's go!

Arlene Phillips voiced her admiration for Pete Wicks on Sunday, as she attended the glitzy world premiere of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical at London's Dominion Theatre.

The choreographer, 81, was famously a judge on Strictly Come Dancing for four years, and gushed she was 'excited' to see the upcoming series 22 finale.

Giving her thoughts on the remaining contestants, she admitted she was a big fan of 'fearless' comedian Chris McCausland and 'stunning' Love Island star Tasha Ghouri.

And despite ending up at the bottom of the leaderboard for three week in a row, Arlene defended Pete's efforts and praised his ability to poke fun at himself, as she referenced his infamous pink latex trousers during Blackpool Week.

Speaking to MailOnline at the star-studded musical premiere, she said: 'I actually admire [Pete]. He is trying so hard and anyone who will wear pink trousers - so tight, bare chest, come on! That's hilarious! And he doesn't mind sending himself up.'

Strictly Come Dancing fans took to social media on Saturday night to slam presenter Tess Daly's comment to contestant Chris McCausland.

Viewers spotted the show presenter's embarrassing blunder and did not hold back online, as they took to social media during the live quarter final on BBC One.

Chris, 47, and professional dancer Dianne Buswell, 35, blew viewers away with their Quickstep performance to You're The Top from Anything Goes as part of musicals week.

After the performance, which scored the pair a 32, Chris and Dianne walked over to Tess, 55, where fans could hear the presenter ask Chris 'can you see how happy she is with you?'

Fans were left confused, pointing out that Chris is blind due to retinitis pigmentosa.

Watch: Tasha forced to overcome unfortunate event during middle of her routine

Strictly Come Dancing's Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec blew fans and judges away on Saturday evening with their Argentine Tango performance during musicals week.

However, the former Love Island star, 26, suffered a major wardrobe malfunction as her cochlear implant fell out mid-performance leaving her struggling to hear the music.

Despite not being able to hear a note, the star managed to keep dancing by simply keeping count of the steps until she somehow managed to reattach the magnetic device.

The dynamic duo were praised for their incredible routine and walked away with a combined score of 38.

After their performance, Tasha and her pro dance partner Aljaž, 34, headed backstage to speak with the camera crew and Aljaž said his 'heart stopped' halfway through when he noticed her implant had fallen out.

Watch: Why Strictly fans predict Pete Wicks will be the next star sent home

Strictly Come Dancing fans have predicted Pete Wicks will be the next celebrity sent home after his performance on Saturday night's show.

The former TOWIE star, 36, danced the waltz with his professional parter Jowita Pryzytal but noticeably made a misstep during his routine.

As a result, Pete received the lowest score from the judges of the week with a total score of 26 out of 40, with Craig Revel Horwood awarding him just five points.

Viewers took to X after the performance and predicted Pete would likely land in the bottom two, with others thinking he would likely face Montell Douglas or Chris McCausland.

They wrote: 'Finally Pete Wicks' week to go I think'... 'Montell and Pete in the skate off. Pete to be booted off.'
