TikTok star Chris O'Donnell, known online as Creeohdee, shared a heartbreaking message in a haunting Instagram post, two months before his tragic death at 31.

The fitness influencer - born Christopher Ryan O'Donnell - passed away on January 11, according to an online obituary.

The social media star's death has been ruled as a suicide, as per People. The Maricopa Medical Examiner confirmed to the publication that O'Donnell died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Chris, who got sober in 2018 and was outspoken about mental health, was popular on TikTok, with over 842,000 followers and 28.2 million likes as well as over 241,000 followers on Instagram.

Though he had not been as active on the app recently, in November 2024 he shared a reel of footage from a number of his hiking adventures with a haunting caption pondering how he'd be remembered after his death.

He wrote: 'I wonder when I leave this earth, when I leave the rat race, when I'm lying in the dirt, if you'd remember my face.'

The video began with a clip of Chris canoeing on a lake and looking around admiring the view, before smiling at the camera.

He then added in a series of snippets from his travels around the world, including a snowy hike and a drive through the desert.

In another clip he was playing with a dog, before lip syncing along to Manic Man by Curits Waters in a studio.

The lyrics of the song read: 'I wanna feel alive when you're screaming my name; I wanna feel alive when you're feeling my pain;

'I wonder when I leave this earth; When I leave the rat race; When I'm lying on the dirt you'd remember my face;

'Put me in the books or hide me in my casket; I don't wanna be alive if I'm in the last place.'

One of his friends, Morgan Ballou, shared a touching tribute on his obituary page, writing, 'Chris, I'll love you forever. You've been a light in my life since we met in 2016. I wish we would’ve moved to CA together in 2021 like we talked about.'

'I wish we kept in touch more than just online every few weeks. I have so many wishes. In the end, I wish you peace. My heart is broken. All the love and thoughts in the world to your family and Blue.'

One of his followers also sent condolences to the family, writing, 'I'm so sorry for your loss, my heart aches with your family. I never had the pleasure of knowing Chris, he was an incredible inspirational figure for myself and motivated me to go to the gym.'

Fellow TikToker Iron Sanctuary (Kevin Clevenger) shared a video tribute in honor of O’Donnell, with some memories of them over the years.

'One day I'll find peace in knowing you're not in pain anymore, but today my heart aches that you’re gone. I love you,' he captioned the post, uploaded on Thursday.

Fans and loved ones alike flooded the comments section of his last Instagram post with tributes to O'Donnell.

'I love you Chris, i wish you would've stayed,' one wrote.

One of Chris' last posts on TikTok was a video of himself giving a speech at his brother's wedding.

He wrote that it was 'one of my proudest moments as a brother, being able to send these two off into the next chapter of their lives.'

Beyond fitness updates and workout routines, the influencer frequently shared photos and videos of his dog and his outdoor adventures on both platforms.

In another post from 2022, pinned atop his Instagram profile, he opened up about his background, revealing he was born in Norfolk, Virginia and has a 'background in mental health and substance abuse.'

'As you have likely noticed, I am a content creator with most of my media revolving around fitness. However, fitness is far from my passion,' he wrote.

'I am a two time college drop out. I have worked more jobs than I can count, all the way from being a pool boy in Florida to being covered in fish guts for 20 hours per day in a salmon processing plant in Alaska. I have experienced many different walks of life in my short span of time here on earth, and I love learning about other cultures and beliefs that make me challenge my own.'

Chris further shared: 'I love the outdoors in general and nearly every animal under the sun (sorry mosquitoes) and I have two beautiful pups, Blue and Riley, who accompany me on my adventures.'

Later in the post he wrote: 'I have been outspoken about mental health since I was speaking about it as a YL leader in high school, and have been transparent about my own struggles in the hopes it will help others along their own path.'

'I also got sober in 2018 and have been an advocate for substance abuse awareness ever since, helping men and women who are struggling find the treatment they need.'

He wrapped up the post admitting he was a 'very solitary person' and that 'it takes a lot for me to fully let people in.'
