Our publishing process

3. Review by Editors and Peer Review

4. Project approval

At the final step of the evaluation process your editor will present your project to the in-house publishing conference where it will be discussed by staff from marketing, sales, and production.

Once your project is approved we will send you a publication contract.

Contract and Rights

We sign a custom contract with every author, detailing the arrangements that you have agreed in advance with your editor. Our general terms and conditions of publication, which govern the working relationship and assignment of rights, are also an integral part of the contract.

It usually takes between 1½ and 6 months before the book is in your hands and the eBook is available to download.
Your book will appear as a high quality print edition and as an eBook.
We will make sure that your book always remains accessible in the future through long term archiving of digital content.

Your publication will be released as an eBook in PDF and EPUB format.
Each title receives its own page on our website with customizable information about the publication and a “look inside” preview feature. A watermark (digital rights management) protects the eBook from unauthorized use.
To ensure your work can be clearly referenced, we will assign you a digital object identifier (DOI) and index the publication’s metadata. Books from De Gruyter are discoverable through Library of Congress, German National Library, Crossref, Google Scholar, and abstracting and indexing (A&I) services.
