Technology – refers to the
great ideas and machines
that help us work easier
and faster.
Example of an inventions we use
everyday are the television, the
cellphone and the car.
We have many inventions
because of technology.
Technology allows people
to do things easily and live
comfortably.
We have the
washing machine to
wash our dirty clothes.
We have the
refrigerator to
keeps food fresh.
We have the
cellphones keep
people in touch
with each other.
Unlike our old
telephones at home
that are plugged into
a box, cellphones are
not connected by
wires.
Technology is also found
outside our homes.
In the supermarket,
cashiers use barcode
readers to scan the
price of items people
buy.
When you enter the
airport or the mall, you can
see security cameras on the
ceiling. When your parents
pass through the airport or
enter the office, they go
through scanners before
they are let inside.
Have you seen the big
box that is part of a
computer? It is not just
show! That big box is like
the computer’s brain that
makes the computer work.
It is called the system
unit. It is super important
because without it, we
would not be able to play
games, watch videos, or do
our homework on the
computer.
The chassis the physical
frame or structure of a computer
or electronic device that supports
its internal components and
provides protection from damage.
It is the backbone of the device,
and everything is built upon it.
The chassis has a
motherboard , also
called the system
board, where other
parts are attached to.
The central
processing unit (CPU)
is the electronic chip
that helps the
computer think and
solve problems.

parts inside called the
hard drive and memory.

expansion slots, where cards.
Like memory, are placed in

connected, and the power
supply, where the electricity

An example is the iMac
