Among the very best sparkling wine in the world, this English fizz is my prime pick with smoked salmon this Christmas. 

6. CREMANT 

Aldi Philippe Michel Cremant du Jura 2012

The best vintage sparkling wine on the UK shelves at this price. Made in the same way as Champagne for a fraction of the cost.

Toro Loco Reserva 2011

Richly satisfying for the price, this hearty Spanish red is spot-on to pair with party bites.

CVNE  Imperial Rioja Reserva 2009

Sleek, rich and savoury, this epic Spanish Rioja is the royal treatment for serving alongside turkey and all the trimmings.
