Delhi man was 'murdered and robbed by two prostitutes and their lovers' say police

Three days after 52-year-old Tarun Bajaj was found brutally murdered at his residence in Central Delhi's New Rajender Nagar area, the police have cracked the ghastly plot behind the crime.

And the plot thickens, for there's greed, brutality, immorality, gore and pure evil mixed in equal measure.

In custody now are two men and two women, all apparently deep in the flesh trade before they graduated to murder this month.

Bajaj was found done to death in the most brutal manner and covered by a sheet on a bed in one of the two bedrooms of his fourth-floor house.

He had been stabbed several times-so brutally that his genitals were savaged, the insides had slipped out of his slashed belly, and the stitches in his chest region from a recent bypass surgery had been ripped open.

The police brought everything it had to bear on the case, including the Crime Branch. Involvement in a betting racket around the ongoing FIFA Cup was a possible lead, but it fizzled out soon enough.

The motive, the police learnt later, was allegedly the more common of robbery. Bajaj had been killed by four persons armed with knives, who had then proceeded to ransack his place.

Strangely, nothing of very great value was said to be missing. The plot that the police has unearthed is, however, as diabolic as the violence unleashed on Bajaj in his final moments alive.

According to the police story, 26-year-old Pooja and 19-year-old Moni are sex workers who allegedly thought of a plan to blackmail Bajaj for the large sums of money they believed he kept in his house.

Pooja is alleged to have been a 'supplier' of women to Bajaj for well over a year, and Moni has a job in a beauty parlour.

The plan was simple: On Wednesday, Moni and Pooja allegedly went to Bajaj's house at about 1pm, followed by Sahil and Sunny on a motorcycle.

Entry was no problem; that explains the empty juice glasses on the table. When Bajaj and Moni retired to a bedroom, Pooja reportedly let her husband and Sunny in.

They all confronted Bajaj, allegedly seeking to blackmail him. Bajaj didn't come to heel like the four conspirators thought he would.

They panicked, or got angry, and allegedly stabbed him to death. So frenzied was the stabbing that Sahil and Moni reportedly even have injuries on their hands sustained in the act of murder.

"After scanning local CCTV footage, it came to our attention that two men on a motorbike had reached the spot wearing shirts but were seen wearing T-Shirts while leaving the place," a police officer said.

After scanning Bajaj's call detail records (CDR), the police then zeroed in on one Pinky, another alleged call girl, who had been in constant touch with Bajaj on cellphone.

Pinky denied her role in the crime but revealed that the accused had wanted to include her in it.

"She got scared and backed out," a police officer said.
